Yeah, it's not quite the Steph Curry as GM hire....but it's a step in the right direction, no?
With paul finebaum's stupid looking head...
Fuck a penn state
Idk, i'm pretty hardcore when it comes to college sports (especially football) and i can tell you this with 110% certainty; it's not FUN when the Hokies are losing/not competing
We have to get down to 105 players, we are over that so we have to cut.
Gee, would've never in a million years expected that.../s
I get that everywhere just lists last school. See: Russel Wilson, Wisconsin not Russel Wilson, NC State. But, I'm still excited about this. I'm a casual, and/so I have no hard feelings for someone following their coach out of town and am happy to celebrate a top 10 pick even if she goes in as a Wildcat. The Amoore/Kitley years were great here! No one can stop you from seeing her in the WNBA and going "hey, she went to my school!". She did, even if she jumped pro from another one. Once a Hokie, always a Hokie.
or,

(sorry about the weird formatting, bluesky embed code didn't grab the picture)
I want to be excited but the hire falls flat for me in what I think of when you say General Manager.
Hernandez arrives in Blacksburg from West Virginia, where he served as the director of player personnel/recruiting last season.
Prior to his time at West Virginia, he was the director of player development at Oklahoma State (2023-24), an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Fresno State (2022-23), director of basketball operations at LSU (2017-22) and VCU (2016-17), director of player development at Wright State (2015-16), and video coordinator at Clemson (2014-15) and Utah State (2010-14).
Despite NIL, portal, coast to coast conference, and the mouse trying to destroy the sport we still got all of this content in 2024:
- "Oh no, disaster what a bad idea"
- Skattebo
- Flag planting
- Michael Irvin being weird as hell
- FSU being dogshit
- Cal gameday
and those are just the ones I came up with off the top of my head in ~2min. College football can still be fun you let it.
lol that is an incredible typo and so accurate.
The spreadsheet is now updated to reflect what is on the athletics webpage + the commits not on campus yet. Some of the players' listed class are wonky, but as discussed above:

Going to Penn State
Yeah from what I've heard the team could lose "up to" 114 players to the portal.
and based on the reported paying time split
Nice Freudian slip that is actually relevant for the current CFB landscape!
Always be careful of these 2 words, it makes it nearly impossible to be incorrect.
up to
Oh this would be really really bad. Can't imagine anyone in the AD surviving that if it's true.
Edit. I see they tagged Joe Roger's so I believe none of it certainly a bad parody account.
15-0 Baby!
Buckle up
BREAKING: Sources close to the program tell me the #VirginiaTech #Hokies are expected to lose up to 25 players when the Spring transfer window opens tomorrow. A detrimental blow to the program that came as a surprise to the staff. Trouble in #Blacksburg ...@VT4L_Joe pic.twitter.com/ZhImkeBVjl— Paul Collins (@PaulCollins247) April 15, 2025
I remember Seth putting him in to body up Sheldon Williams. Jeff was able to show him down by keeping him far from the basket, but he sure couldn't do much if they ended up within 6 ft.
He also was the most productive of the 3 in the spring game and the two ahead of him are banged up
Do we? I feel like that roster isn't even that good. And O Line seems like the last position to cut guys. That said if he's so far down the depth chart we can't see him contributing in 4 years then that's a huge recruiting eval miss by Mr Zoom OL coach extraordinaire
Same. Don't think he ever had a chance here or at any power conference program.
Can we just trade players I feel like we're in significant need at some positions still.
I'm probably in the minority but I feel like Brand and Ryan had significantly more upside and probably even at a better stage now than Belfort but who knows.

Not if they are treating it as a glorified Director of Player Personnel which is where his background is
