Other basketball news, Tobi was player of the game in Game 3 of the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament. He had 19 points and 5 rebounds. Shot 4 for 6 from 3.
Reason has good housing content. I use them for work occasionally.
Committed to Rutgers. They now have two former Hokies as Darren Buchanan also is there. Played against Gurdak in High School in the WCAC.
I just drove that not long ago and it was fine. My only guess is maybe there was an accident when you tested it and it built in the detour to avoid accident traffic. Other than that, I don't have any other info.
I just ran Google maps from my dad's house in Mechanicsville to my house in Roanoke and it defaulted to the back road, but when I selected the 64/81 route, I saw no stoppages or detours and the total time was right at 3 hours like it should be.
Win 11-6
Sincere Jones returning next year
HBP 11-6 now. Inching closer to one swing to tie. Hokies going to bullpen for second time in the 9th.
Wow...Hokies get lucky on deep foul ball down 3rd base line. Would have cleared the bases. Instead after review Hokies get strikeout on next pitch.
2 outs
Bases loaded walk
11-5
One out
11-4 in 9th now. No outs.
Also another broadcast with no centerfield camera
11-3 now. Talk about hit or miss tonight. Hokies put up 9 in the 4th inning. Have not had a baserunner since the last out in the 4th. 13 straight outs. Also out in order in 1st and 3rd inning.
Put up 11 though with only a solo homerun by Grube in 2nd inning.
I don't really listen to podcasts but Mrs Chumps loves a podcast for a drive. We agree on a bunch of the NPR podcasts like This American Life, Wait Wait Dont Tell Me, and A Way With Words. We also like Science Friday
Lately I've been doing some of Matt Harmon's Reception Perception longform youtubes ahead of the nfl draft specifically because I'm in more Dynasty Fantasy football leagues thansl redraft these days
Question for the folks more familiar with 81 these days....Is Google Maps messing with me?
Coming from Richmond, I usually have the option of the interstate route (west on 64, south on 81), or the "back roads" route (360 and 460).
Normally Google defaults to the interstate route, but right now, it's defaulting to the "back roads" route. And the interstate route has a detour built in adding at least an extra half hour -- SB 81 to Lexington, get on WB 64 to Rt. 220 and take that back to 81, getting back on at exit 150.
When I reverse the directions to come home, it doesn't even recommend the interstate route.
I know they're running a bunch of work zones to widen the interstate, but I didn't think that part of 81 was fubar.
Hokies run rule walk off GT 10-2
Baseball winning 11-2 going to the 7th

Anytime Tosh.0 or Comedy Central comes up he absolutely rips into them. There's a lot of justifiable bitterness about how CC pulled the plug on the show after he bankrolled the whole staff of the show during COVID. They had just been renewed and got rug pulled right before they were to start filming. He got a nice buyout check, but the rest of the staff was screwed, which meant that a decent amount of that check went to making them good.
A few of the guys behind the scenes on Tosh.0 are the people behind the camera on the podcast. You hear them reminiscing all the time
I am shocked Sons of Saturday has yet to be mentioned. They do a lot of great Hokie content.
My other two every week pods are Reason Roundtable (small-l libertarian news commentary) and The Fifth Column (news/media critique, doesn't really code left or right, they shit on everybody and have some really great guest interviews that somehow stay cordial).
Got a season in to My Dad Wrote a Porno, but just didn't stick with it.
I love both parts because I learn something either way and their humor is so in sync with mine.
hopefully she does well...good kid
Damn,

The recent Fullcast episode on the history of Amateurism was fantastic. I know their schtick is everything but football, but their show really shines when they talk football.

I listen more in season, but they do so many pods a week, which is great for their subscribers, that I find myself marking a bunch played without listening. It can become redundant when you're ingesting a lot of CFB during the season.
Blowback is a favorite of mine. It's given me some great books to read as they cite everything on their website. The bonus episodes often feature great interviews as well.
