Not many.
So 10 scholarships is generous.
College swimmers are in that because they want to compete at that level, not because it's a paying career.
Notice that Maryland eliminated swimming, as it wasn't ever going to contribute to their football or basketball budgets.

Today there 9.9 scholarships for mens swimming.
Next year they are limiting rosters to 30.
Lots of swimmers have to leave meaning that swim teams are way over 30 swimmers.
If there are way over 30 swimmers on the teams and only 9.9 scholarships then the amount of swimmers getting paid is low because it's like 45 swimmers and 9.9 scholarships of money.
So anyone saying a scholarship should be enough is not thinking about any sport other than football, basketball, and somen gymnastics because those are the only full ride guaneteed sports. The rest of the 190,000 athletes get very little.
Sounds like he's a homie for those that close to the DC Beltway.
Buzz claimed to come to VT to be part of the ACC, and then claimed he went to Texas A&M to get back to his home state of Texas.
Why is he headed to Maryland? He suddenly likes bad traffic? Finally wants to go to a basketball school? Has a woodie for Kevin Plank? Or is he just a rolling stone?
He was fascinating for a while, but I'm over Buzz. He does seem like a good fit at soulless, transactional, "maybe we can buy a win" Maryland.
I haven't had one in ages, but I remember the turkey and gravy being pretty good.
However, I'm pretty sure my tastes have changed since then.

It would almost be better if big donors moved business and invested in Roanoke. Improve schools, offer high paying jobs that are just not there in the quantity that is needed.
I dont know what comes out of research park but it's not like GTRI. It's over a half billion in revenue.
This is where Sands was brought in to increase our university standing and we still lag behind, not from the education of our undergrads, we produce a lot of great engineers (and other majors) but our research and footprint as a university doesnt match a lot of the higher up universities. Oklahoma has a fine art museum as well as a rare book collection. Alabama has its own museum (though I don't thinknits as well known as OUs), Texas Tech too, FAMU has a Carnegie museum. There are a lot of little things that VT hasn't done because it was an Ag and technical school. These things bring people to an area.
The thing I love about living in NoVa is the education system and the arts. Seeing Hamilton when it first came, but also The Christmas Carol in Ford theater, or the lion King, Anastasia, Little Shop of Horrors with the original Audrey II actor, the 50th revision of Jesus christ superstar, and numerous other plays, muscials and concerts. That's a lot harder in south west VA. Like we said in the other thread, when was the last time Cassell had a major event that wasn't VT sports (or graduation). There's a lot of great things about southerwest VA, but it also lacks a lot of things that would make it more enticing.
When you're replacing nothing with something, it's an automatic win.
Extremely deep 2025 RB class. Tuten would be a 3rd rounder if he was in last year's class.
Idk, Ashton Jeanty is going to be a top 10 pick and he played at a mid-major...Tuten is being compared to De'Von Achane (best case scenario) who was a third round pick - where Tuten would be projected if this was a "normal RB" draft.
With the RB class being so deep, early 5th seems right...Tuten is great, but he's small, not a pass catcher and fumbles.
Nothing I have seen indicates any animosity, Frazier just preferred to come back to Virginia Tech. He and Devries had not worked together before last season.
I think rb scouting is good which is why they draft guys in late rounds all the time, its where they fit well in the value scheme.

I would think you would need restructuring just to eliminate bad actors, but NIL is a contract, and I've worked places where I had to vest before I got anything for stocks, its quite common for stocks, revenue sharing, and pension.
Love Tuten, but NFL RB scouting is pretty good. Much better than QB and other positions. They must see something in other RBS
He will probably end up being the steal of the draft. I hope he goes somewhere where he has a shot to succeed though, it can be hit or miss.
Every now and then I debate buying some for the freezer but I actually look a the health information now and shudder.

I'm feeling great this year. Shot a 43 yesterday birdied both par 5s but with a collapse on 8 (double) and 9 (triple). Burnt the edge on the same eagle putt on the hole above after pushing a 305 drive. Need to get out and play 18 while the clubs are hot.
