It wasn't enough. I attended the design pre proposal meetings. It sounded like they were really trying to make concessions to budget, to somehow get it in line. They went so far as to give a variance to the Hokie stone rule. But, the things they were saying they'd do really probably didn't make enough difference. Ultimately, square footage costs more than finishes and systems. It didn't sound like there was much willingness to lose program space. And being required to comply with the High Performance Buildings Act also doesn't help budgetarily.

There was way too much planned to land within that budget. Based on the costs I've seen on that campus, they'd be lucky to get 30k sf. The number of beds they needed to accommodate, based on the phase 1 plans, would have required around 215k sf.

UVA finalizing agreement to hire Ryan Odom as it's next head coach

Welp....not an overwhelming start with 230 pts in the first round....but my entire sweet 16 is still alive......

Sorry to hear that, French. Work always did get in the way of fishing for me, even after I started my guide service, so I can feel your pain. Hope your plans work out well for you and that things calm down at work.
Here on the Middle Peninsula, the water's still cold, 46-48 or so, but things are coming alive a bit. Crabbing season started March 17th and some crabbers are already catching big jimmies. Some osprey have returned to the nesting platforms so there must be some bait around. Lastly, Hokie Troutman Paul and his buddy went out a couple of days ago for a three hour tour and were able to catch four rockfish between them, 16,17,23 and 24", so there are still winter holdovers around, and a speck was found on his buddy's dock, half eaten by gulls, so some specks were able to avoid the cold shock that killed so many trout this winter. Nobody here shad fishes, and where I used to get a few to start the season the powers that be have closed the creek access bridge where I used to fish so I'm out of luck there. Good personal news is that my new knee is healing well and I should be ready to go as soon as it's worth it. Bad news is that the bills are rolling in just in time to transfer the pain from the leg to the wallet. Worth it? Ask again in a year or so.

Teslas rank overall in the middle of all manufacturers for reliability but are improving each year as you would expect with a new car company. The Cybertruck is a bit of an outlier as it is just crazy and even Elon said he wouldn't do it again. Funny thing to me is just how much misinformation gets thrown out there by people about Tesla who have never even owned/driven one. Very American. My buddy sold his X to try out the Rivian SUV and sold it within six months because of the poor workmanship compared to his X. My experiences are firsthand. The model X (which my neighbor also has had for five years) has been bulletproof for me.

As for weather. You have to look at this in a comparative basis.
For in-state, State College, PA is about average by the state with Philadelphia having the balmiest weather in the state. IYKYK, I am editorializing with that word choice. Philly area having the bulk of the population.

The bulk of the in-state population in VA is Richmond, Northern VA and VA Beach.
Blacksburg's weather is nowhere near the weather of those areas, especially the semitropical VA Beach (region 9). Hell, Blacksburg is colder than Roanoke.

Also, State College is a hop skip and jump from everywhere in PA. They even named the town after the school.

TLDR- thinking Blacksburg, VA is comparable to State College, PA has me considering the post was a troll but I took the time to respond anyway.

Welp by end of session, Penn State jumps away.

Hokies have Ventresca and McGonagle in Consolation bracket and Henson wrestling to repeat tomorrow.

Wolak loses 13-8. Deck was stacked against him from first whistle. Officials gave NC STall at least 6 points

I cannot disagree.
Her and her roommate are never there. My daughter is always in the studio and her roommate is Engineering AND in the band. That's one reason why they are moving into an apartment next semester.
They are on the top floor in the corner room.
The top floor is tough because the elevator(s) never works.

She has her own description of what the word "Slusher" means.

Now officials at table for something else but have awarded NC STALL another point right now. 10-1. Hokies challenge ongoing now.
