Phil Longo was hired to be Sam Houston State HC after being fired as OC for Wisconsin.

Oh, I forgot about the airlines. My grandfather was a victim of Western Electric getting bought out by I think it was Bell Atlantic, then split into the baby Bells (can't remember what all happened, but eventually they went out of business, and I think it was the same thing, liquidate pensions to pay creditors.

Brian Smith, Ohio OC was promoted to Ohio HC

Jake Dickert is the new Wake Forest head coach. He was hired away from Washington State so that job is now open.

That was only part of it. He was gifted the perfect us against them scenario when VT and Miami left the Big East to die. Rich Rod's teams played with that boulder on their shoulder because of it. WVU thought they were going to be left high and dry without a major conference and Rich Rod got them to play that way. Those days are long gone. His resume at Michigan and Arizona are much more an indicator. He had one good year at Arizona before him trying to sleep with every woman in the football building became public and he had that decent QB... bottom line- none of that shit is going to happen again.

TWA and the other old airlines agree. I remember when the government allowed the airlines to liquidate the pensions during re-organization. There were a lot of 60+ stewardess's going back to work.

401ks didn't destroy employee loyalty. There were a number of pretty large businesses that went under and people lost their pensions. My grandfather lost his, and I remember seeing that in the news a lot in the early 80s. So, if people can't necessarily trust that a pension will be there, why be loyal? People began looking for something that would provide more security.

Yes, 401k's are cheaper than pensions, but they also protect an employee the way a pension couldn't necessarily. And even though 401ks don't tie you to a company the way a pension would, not all companies match or vest the same way either. Some vest over 5 years, some contribute a couple more percentage points than others.

Then, another benefit companies can provide is stock options or buying discounted company stock. That would incentivize employees to not only stick around, but help the business be more profitable. There are other things companies can do to increase loyalty that have nothing to do with a 401k.

Jerry fired Jimmy Johnson in his prime. A great football coach and talent scout (this is the part that has been missing) because he thinks coaching is overrated. To defend Jerry a bit, today's guys calling off x jet 2 right base cross echo jam high cross on 2 from the waffle house menu aren't fucking leaders or head coaches- the dufus in Miami, the guy losing 10 games with Burrow, the Jay fucking grudens, etc- they are play callers, nothing more. So jerry is onto something there, IMO. But he still thinks coaching is overrated and he is the brains behind the operation. 1996 was a long time ago Jerrah...

Meh- Rich Rod is going to run the zone read in morgantown again and win 11 games a year in the Big 12. Simple as that. He is totally going to catch lightning in a bottle twice.

It's named after my credit union now, which has focused on growth recently (as evidenced by buying naming rights to an NFL stadium) at, in my opinion, the expense of their existing customers. It was disappointing to see them spend that kind of money instead of improving their services. But, I guess that's the nature of commerce these days. Don't get me started on Ticketmaster. However you feel about their music, Eddie Vedder was right.

Parking is not an issue anymore. Just have no fucking parking and let the fans figure it out. That is seriously the new thing with stadiums. The fans will figure out how to get there. The days of arrowheads million acre parking lot are over. There is basically ZERO on site parking for the raiders now or sofi.

Hokies are now one of only five P4 schools to not yet get a portal commit.

Our company is Purdue, Georgia, WVU, and Pitt. Two of the four are going through head coach and full staff turnover. Georgia is only chasing the top end guys. Nardouche and Pry fighting to be portal inept king.

Dan Snyder - among other things- was a cheap bastard and spent the least he could on everything. He sat in a cherry wood skybox straight out of the ritz carlton while the stadium was crumbling and the media box had limited views of the field. He used the grounds crew from RFK on the cheap.

He won't have to worry about it because we will be coaching for the Dallas Cowboys, which is a hilarious scenario but also you can see something Jerry doing and something I am actively rooting for just because.

One option for more parking would be bulldozing the soccer complex next to it. That was the DC United academy/practice field but they moved the Academy to Loudoun FC. Do not believe DC United still practices there. It's still not enough so most likely they would need to build garages in addition to the stadium.
