I think without injuries, 7-4 was the floor.
The six losses were by an average of 5.66 points.
Vandy: We don't give them an extra 5 yards on the FG attempt in the 3rd, he might not have made it or they would have punted, that would be a W
Rutgers: We hold Rutgers to a FG instead of a TD in the 3rd, that's a W
Miami: Charlotte doesn't call in the result, that's a W
Syracuse: Defense makes a stand on the 3rd and 1 in the 4th. that's a W
Duke: Hold on the 3rd and 13, that's a W
Defense makes 5 more stops and we are, at worst, 9-2 (6-1) right now sitting at 3rd in the ACC, with a chance to go to 2nd if Cal could upend SMU.

Time is valuable and we basically know Pry won't work out next year. The one thing he has going for him is a pretty good recruiting class coming in, that we don't want to screw up before signing day...
I'm more and more of the opinion we should just plan to fire him after the game regardless of outcome and get Schumann. He would probably be able to keep this class together, and maybe even add a couple more pieces. (I'm sure Clatterbaugh for example would love to play for the current Georgia DC). At the very least I would be talking to Schumann to gauge interest, if he wanted the job I think we should pull the trigger
That's better for him long-term. The way I remember his head hitting the ground on that play didn't look pretty. I saw him covering his head with the sideline jacket on the way back to the locker room and figured he was having concussion symptoms, I didn't notice the shoulder wrap.
I don't believe Schlee was being treated for a concussion. Everything I have seen says it was for his shoulder that he landed on. As he was heading to the tunnel you could tell that shoulder was heavily wrapped.
Huh, sounds familiar.
Herbert Headcheeks!
Can concur here - we definitely were rarely best in athletics when I was there (we had one year where we had a winning record/playoff appearance in football), and even now I think generally only the basketball team has performed well in recent years. But yeah academically I think we were trending towards 2nd/3rd best in the county after TJ
Not often I go on an Internet forum and find a fellow Woodson alum! (Though I guess given Tech that's not too far-fetched)
I think this is just fans reading too much into things, but some eyebrow raising language from Feldman about Moorhead 'closing things out with the Zips'.
Great way for Joe Moorhead to close things out at Akron, upsetting Toledo in overtime. Zips beat Toledo for the first time in 11 years and finish the season winning three of their last five games.— Bruce Feldman (@brucefeldmancfb.bsky.social) November 26, 2024 at 10:42 PM
I think we're more likely to see Drones than Schlee based on how Schlee looked even before his likely concussion shoulder injury. Pop and Tuten should be able to beat UVA. I think the game boils down to getting after colander. Hopefully the DBs can play up to UVAs meager receiving corps.
Even without the injuries we are looking at 7-4 right now at best, but I'm not convinced we wouldn't have dropped a game to either 'Cuse or Duke with a healthy roster. I think the regression or stagnation from the returning players make this a disappointing season no matter the record. Let the young guys and the Tuten's play and if they aren't enough to beat UVA then I think it becomes clear to even the casual fans that a major change needs to happen.
Well hey, ya gotta start somewhere. To screw a major college team as completely as Brooks did takes practice.
Pop already seems pretty fast at getting rid of the ball.
It's pretty clear he's been briefed on the reality of being a VT QB this year. Hanging on to the ball too long = sack.

Happy to revise if he catches more than he drops vs UVa.
Next man up. Teach pop how to adjust the line as uva will blitz early and often. Roll him out with the ball and stop dropping him straight back in the pocket. If Felton can't go, put someone in that can catch the damn ball and get separation. Offensive line needs a shakeup, grade them out and move someone else in. It isn't working, so mix it up.
Coaching, maybe we get someone who can call a fucking game. Tell pry to go up in the booth and doodle on his notepad

And me next year (assuming no big changes)

Me this year, last year, and maybe even the year before that
I wish we had more dudes like Tuten, period.
"Lane North Remembers"
The offense is pretty bad though. SP+ has them as the 115th offense, which seems about right. Defense is carrying them, which is ranked 53rd.
Yea, I don't see Schlee or Drones playing this weekend. We'll see if Pop has what it takes.
It's been such a weird and disappointing year in which there are so many different issues resulted in a 5-6 season. The injuries have also played a sizeable role in the outcome of the games. I don't know how many games people would project VT winning with Drones on the sidelines; Tuten on the sidelines; or both.
Sad part is Felton has dropped or missed more balls than caught this season.

Any players worth tying to grab in portal from UNC?
