my understanding of the spread is that it's driven by bets. If too many people bet that UNC will fail to cover the spread, they reduce the spread. So it's very likely that something like the spread, which is based on gamblers' feel for the game and an "expert" prediction will not jive.

Worth noting.... UNC is still talking about the win over Florida St. They're still talking to the media down here about it, they're having their kicker still do radio shows and spots on the local news about what happened last week, and he just had a segment on ESPN SportsCenter this morning about last week.

They're not focused on us at all.

I did a quick email to the address above. Here is the response:

We are all out of the magnets. This was a one-time summer promotion.

Oh well, nice try.

yeah I came in here and promptly thought "What the actual f*** is going on!?"

Bets sig line is /s so that, I believe, is why all his posts are sarcastic...all the other stuff confuses the hell out of me

This would support option A. I've noticed as well that the sizes are not always equal, but when they are very obvious (Switzer) they form such distinct edges that it seems like an intentional stitching of fabric to collect sweat in those areas.

I'm hoping we'll have some available at the Alumni tailgate at UNC this weekend. I have nothing to back this up, but gut feeling says I can guarantee we'll have them available for the Duke tailgate next month. We'll be at the Friday Center lot this weekend (look for the Alumni Association flags and massive congregation of VT fans), and be sure to pick up a ticket for the Duke tailgate at trianglehokies, org if you want to swing by.

How would you explain the difference in the spread from opening to present? I think it opened around -6.5 and is now hovering around -2 (factoring -3 for home field advantage seems like we might actually be favored come Saturday). Then on top of that, ESPN still lists UNC at roughly 65% in their matchup predictor. Something doesn't add up.

The athletic dept has been giving them away, at Hokie Club events, at the stadium, dropping by their offices during the week, giveaways on social media, TKP had some to give away, various business in NOVA, 757 and the NRV have/had them.
