Normally I would say yes that UNC would have the edge with their RB's. However, given Fedora's tendency to get away from the running game I think it actually gives VT the edge.
Looking at what UNC has faced so far I think VT's ability to get pressure on Trubisky with the front 4 will be the key. I'm not sure how much Foster will be able to confuse Trubisky with multiple looks and scheme but the UNC QB needs to be running for his life for VT to keep the opposing offense under wraps. Previous games lead me to believe that can happen but this is certainly the biggest test of the defense through the early part of the season.

What is the difference between the Off Passing and Off Pass Downs? Is the first for passing on any down, and the last for performance on say 3rd & long?
Thanks for the writeup, French. Seems like for every pro you can find a con in this matchup. We're going to learn a lot about this team but I'm really interested in seeing Fuente in a close chess match. I think he's got the edge on Fedora, who seems to make some pretty bad in game calls. Also, this is the type of game that can be dictated by turnovers or special teams. How do their special teams look this year? Lastly, does NC get the edge in the rain because of Hood and Logan or do we get it cause Bud's defense?

Every game there has been small struggles here-and-there that they have been able to correct in game. You have to figure at some point they will really struggle, as all offenses do. How the team responds and manages to claw out a win will be paramount.

Faycson being back to his old self or close to it has helped tremendously. Increased experience from last year for most of the back 7 has been a big plus too. I remember somebody saying something about Mihota? I love it when a plan comes together!

FINAL FORECAST UPDATE!!!!
Looks like the final line is falling between what the GFS and the EURO were doing. The storm is hugging the coast a little bit more, taking less of a straight shot up into the Carolinas (bad news for people along the coast) as far as game time I fully expect us to get some wind and rain during the game its probably going to be a pretty messy and sloppy game. Most of my original forecasts will probably still hold up. Interestingly once it gets pushed out to sea it lingers around for a short period of time loops a little bit and then gets pushed out to the atlantic further. I doubt it will completely loop around and hit Florida again like people were concerned about.
Regardless I'm pretty sure this forecast will hold up, and you'll see hurricane tracks popping up early tomorrow afternoon...frankly probably by the time i wake up tomorrow. Also sorry i broke deadline nobody ever said whether it was 3 ET or CT but i was going by CT, which i guess makes this a 4 AM deadline. Sorry for letting everyone down
I'll keep everyone updated if things change and with the latest model data and info as it comes out as well as live pictures/videos if things get scary. Stay safe out there hokies!
