Cuse has looked terrible this year. Explosive on offense at times, but porous on defense

I wouldn't be so quick to say that - this Syracuse team is reminiscent of some of the ECU squads that have had our number in the past. I know many of you will point to the 54-17 beat down we gave ECU last week, but the reality is had they connected on a few of those deep balls in which their receivers had a step or two on our corners, the game would have been much closer than the scoreboard indicated when the clock hit 00:00.

Also, for everyone - check the highlights to the Miami GT game. Kaaya threw a slant to Stacy Coley for a TD that was shades of Brady to Edelman. The timing was unbelievable and Kaaya put it right on the numbers. That's going to be a tough team to shut down offensively.

Some people/media are jumping on the "we didn't play anybody" bandwagon, but considering our TO problems in the first two games, and BC & ECU are teams that I think aren't much worse than they've been in previous years, we've done pretty well.

I know BC really hasn't played anybody, but GT has a top 30 defense. I also think ECU's problem has been turnovers, which our new coach and new QB has been able to solve so far. I think it's not so much bad opponents, but VT is just that good based on what's been presented so far. This poorly formatted table demonstrates that VT has held both BC and ECU to their lowest totals, particularly in Total Offense and Rushing. And I didn't even mention VT's offense compared to their other opponents.

Living in the OBX, I'm definitely hoping this pushes east out to sea, in addition to the obvious reasons, Mustang Music Festival is in Corolla this weekend, Fri & Sat, and also, if it does it, I have to go out the next morning to do damage assessment, don't be messing with my weekend Matthew!

8+2 would be a scheduling nightmare. I know P5 matchups are popular, but I don't think many people realize how much of a nightmare it is to schedule them. It's telling that the staunchest supporters of that model already have an annual game with a P5. Everyone else would be scrambling. The only real solution I see would be if they allowed programs to count AAC opponents as one of the two P5 requirements. And in that case, our schedule looks exactly like it looks now. On the other hand, 9+1 would help it feel slightly less like the Coastal and Atlantic are in the same conference in name only.

I'm driving back from Greenville NC to DC this Thursday, then back on Sunday morning. Will I be hitting the worst of it at any point?

So he'll be decommitting after the end of next season when Muschamp confirms for all time that he's a good DC, but horrible HC and USCjr fires him.
