Union and Richlands play ever year in barnburners. I've had the pleasure (and agony) of watching Mitchell play for the last three seasons. Dude is a legit dude. He is a legit 6'4 (Richlands has two 6'4 guys and when they stood side by side, they were all the same height). He has great hands and knows how to use his body to go up and get a ball while shielding the defender. Really hope he ends up at VT.

I won't feel good about these rankings until UNC, Miami, and Pitt are in the rearview mirror. Until then, I'm sitting on a bench at the station.

When VT is ranked after those games, I'm buying a first class ticket on the hype train.

9 + 1 is fine as long as we don't lose any of the p5 OOC games on our schedule. That is currently:
17: nWVU
18: vND
19: @ND
20: vPSU, @Mich
21: vMich*, @WVU, vND (awesome!)
22: vWVU
23: vPurdue, @Rut
24: @Wisky, vRut
25: @PSU, vWisky
26-29: UMD; 29/20: Arizona

*Interestingly enough, Michigan's future schedule does not have a P5 OOC road game for 2019. It would be nice to bump them up two years.

I think the scheduling concerns are way overblown and saying it's hard is a cop-out. It doesn't matter how hard it is, this is a league devoted to playing football, if you can't even schedule games then you're not doing your job. Those big time non-conference games against new opponents are one of the things that makes college football so much fun. Personally, I think it should be 9+2 with FCS games abandoned (or at least not counting towards bowl eligibility).

I'm assuming he's saying that neither VT nor UNC is a recognizable enough brand to merit being shown on ABC, so we'll be kicked to ESPN2 (reading "duce" as "deuce", ie "2"). I do not agree with his assertion, just providing my interpretation of it.

If games are based on what ifs we could easily be undefeated right now . Our defense got a little lazy at times in 2nd half . We also took out our 1s by the 4th. Miami looks like what they are a team that nobody is really too sure about yet . You point out 1 pass play they have but then i see 2 terrible turnovers for touchdowns by GT . Now the score is 21-21. GT is the only decent team they have played and They didn't show what their ranking suggest so far is what a lot of people see that is all

CFN is an interesting ranking system. They lean on head-to-head matchups to sort out what they can, especially after the top 25...but they use projection at the top. Thus, VT not having any big wins doesn't hurt us because of how we've won.

For UVA, they rank them over Central Mich, who they rank over Okie St who is higher than Pitt who is higher than Penn St who is higher than Minnesota. That's defensible. But they've got Oregon at 66th, one behind Washington State but 30 behind a UVA team they beat the pants off of.

I admire their commitment to head-to-head but it falls apart pretty quickly as the season wears on.

No pass needed....only cold hard CASH...just pay the attendant upon entry.
Noon games..they opened at 8am....and most folks came in about 9am. I would imagine they will still open at 8am, with most folks coming in between 9am and 10am.

Have you watched Cuse play at all this year? The ECU squads are nothing like them. Cuses defense is worse than trash. ECUs D wasn't the most talented, but they could put some things together and the offense never sold out the defense. Cuse might put up some points, but 100% at the expense of the defense.
