# | Ask TKP: A Quarter of the way through the 2016 season, have your expectations changed? Preseason game-by-game was:
VT 57, Liberty 3
Tennessee 24, VT 20
VT 30, BC 6
VT 40, ECU 17
UNC 34, VT 30
VT 41, SU 20
VT 27, Miami 20
VT 20, Pitt 10
VT 37, Duke 13
VT 39, GT 22
ND 17, VT 10
VT 34, UVA 17
I will stick with it. ND game likely won't be that low scoring but I still have that as a likely loss even with how they are playing currently.
It's amazing what a win over CMU can do for a team. Now, instead of predicted to beat UVA 90 out of hundred times, VT is predicted to beat UVA 89 times.
I'd say double digits flying over me.
As long as that 15th game is still a win; that's all that matters
We all know the ground cannot cause a fumble.
If he was in the middle of the field, it would've been an incomplete pass, not a fumble. The ground can cause an incompletion.
I just like the way ball shorts feel as opposed to pants or cargo shorts lol.

I'd like to think that the new game plan is that the offense is expected to go out and score points on every drive, and Fuente just wants Bud's defense to get a stop. I dont think he cares all that much if the other team is scoring every now and then. It's the opposite as what it was with Beamer.
Until the ACC Championship game
Not as bad as you'd think because they were kind of difficult to mold into a proper aerial machine. I saw three in east but none made the field.
Gone from 15-0 to 14-1.
How bad was it?
Exactly. This was the rule that was re-written after the Danny Coale situation.
1. Ball must be in possession through the entire completion, to the ground.
2. Ball can touch the ground if it does not aid in maintaining control.
In CJ's case, #1 was clearly not satisfied. Highlight reel effort, but the correct call was made.

# | Ask TKP: A Quarter of the way through the 2016 season, have your expectations changed? I originally had us at 7-5 hoping for 8-4. My expectation is 10-2 now because I have seen a much needed improvement in the defense and the O is as advertised. I think the chemistry on this team is much better than I originally expected.
My prediction is we will have one more major learning experience like Bristol. The rest of the Coastal isn't as good as I thought it would be so Even at 9-3 I think we have a shot to make it to the ACCCG.

# | Ask TKP: A Quarter of the way through the 2016 season, have your expectations changed? Expectations are a little higher. As a few others have stated, this team is playing on a different level than the last few years and I am enjoying the home games for the first time in a long while...a few years.
While before I was content to win 6 or possibly 7 games and get a bowl for the streak, now the sky is the limit. Will we win the Coastal? We should. I would love to play Louisville in ACCCG. Not saying we are a playoff caliber of team. We are not, but the plans are there and it's up to the players to reach goals that seemed impossible last season. This coaching staff feels competent in every phase. No offense to Beamer, but the team and staff are set on the right course. It feels good right now.
More odds and probabilities!
After an exciting ACC slate in Week 4, Virginia Tech has a greater chance to win each game except for UVA (plummeting by 0.8 percent) and Duke (down 0.1 percent). Duke's upset in South Bend make the ND game look much more manageable, but I do expect Brian Kelly to turn them around at least a little bit. A bye week in Week 5 will take the updated probabilities out of Tech's hands and should set up a spectacular matchup with UNC. FPI says the UNC game is the toughest game remaining on the schedule at this time.
Other teams' performances notwithstanding, Tech has shown it's a serious threat to win the Coastal by pouring on points and not letting the other team score. Have you met my friend Jerod??
Hooray Football! Hooray Offense! Hooray Confidence-that-we-can-win-any-game!

It just armed the students with materials to build paper airplanes.
Brian Kelly
He regains control of the ball -- while out of bounds.
The possession he initially had wasn't completed through his landing on his back. Incomplete pass.
We have been burned a lot over the past few years. Personally I try to be cautiously optimistic. However there is a part of me that is convinced we're going to win the natty every year for the next 15 years at least.
This might have been covered. If so excuse.
Carroll caught the ball!
We all know the ground cannot cause a fumble.
He has control of the ball on the way down.
His left foot hits first in bounds.
When his back hits the ball is jarred loose and end up in his lap.
He regains control of the ball.
WTH am I missing?

I think the season has gone well and as expected with our record . That Tennessee loss just hurts because we killed ourself with all the fumbles. I do believe our run game needs to get better . I absolutely love our d line and the backup tackles of walker /settle shows no drop off . overall defensively I believe we will keep getting better especially in the secondary. Alexander, Reynolds, and edmunds are still young and will get better. Turnovers on offense I believe will dictate how we do the rest of the season rather than a lack of offense previously . Looking forward to NC and see where we stand .
Amen Fireman. To. The. Ground.

I say 5 or less. The announcers won't use that phrase and it will slowly fade away as this becomes Fuente, Shibest special teams. To me it already sounds odd since he isn't the coach and I've been attending games for 20 years. It may get a mention if we continue the wearing of 25 by a different player every week, this may be a 1 year thing or it may be permanent I'm not sure what Fuente has planned.
