I don't claim to be a huge wrestling fan/follower (although I love seeing them succeed and reading your updates throughout the year), but I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in Blacksburg for the BC game last week, and I saw that coach Zadick was there with what looked to be a HS recruit and his family. It was cool to see him, and I realized that the only reason I recognized him was because of these threads on TKP.
Awesome news on the recruits, btw.
Frank used a conservative offense for sure. It was a much more viable strategy when he was cutting his teeth. Without Frank and his style of play though we would likely be talking about our upcoming Sun Belt conference slate or worse. Or very likely fretting over whether our new 60 year old retread coach was gonna cut it while wishing we were as well placed as UVA. It was time for change and not a minute too soon but I just don't think the team, the school, or the community itself would be where it is without CFB.
Scottie Montgomery liked Star Trek V.
Scottie Montgomery thinks that East and West Carolina are the real states, and that UNC and USCe are confused geographically.
Scottie Montgomery had another piece of paper on top of his job offer, and thought he was taking a job at an ACC school when he looked and saw VT on all of the future schedules.
This right here. For some people enrolling at 18 or 19 just isn't an option. Whether it's family obligations or financial it's not always feasible. My mom found her job outsourced at age 53. Staying near the school wasn't an option and neither was commuting. She ended up taking a mixture of satellite classes and online for her associate's at Wytheville Community College and all online for her bachelor's at ODU (still all Hokie though). It may not be as prestigious as a standard bachelor's, but it's the only option that really worked for her
Let's put it this way. Mook is playing the Cody position better than anyone since.. Cody Himself.
I checked at work, and I couldn't find any zoom on the box, so we're stuck with zooming on the TV.
Geez, sometimes don't you miss the days of square TVs and whole numbered channels that were actually on the channel they were supposed to be? Never had to worry about how many TVs were in your house, because you could hook all of them up with a splitter. And the picture was always the right shape and not missing info on the sides.
I think it's two fold. We still have the Raycom game on TV, which still works off of a sub-license from ESPN. But it might have fewer blackout restrictions on ESPN3/WatchESPN. And then the "ACC (ESPN) Network Extra", which is essentially just ESPN3 with a different logo.
When ESPN's ACC Network launches in 2019, I believe that Raycom will be cut out of the game, just like they were with the SEC.
Pick 2 WR for week 3. Non-PPR
Amari Cooper (OAK)
Eric Decker (NYJ)
Willie Snead (NO)
Travis Benjamin (SD)
Jordan Matthews (PHI)
I would have gone Gronk too. Witten is on my bench this week behind Tamme. Just hasn't done much this year (non-PPR)
Fuck Attaochu
I just looked over Harrisonburg channels, and good lord, it's a mess over there. Looks like most of the networks are all on subchannels of channel 3. While directv is giving you the CW from the WVIR 29 subchannel, they give you the NBC 4 feed from DC. While 4 is the better channel, I would think that 29 would have more relevant news.
I was thinking back when my now-wife lived in the valley, and she got the DC stations on her cable. I figured that extended a little further, with just a little supplemental from the H-burg stations. (Like when I lived in Culpeper, getting the DC stations plus 29.)
TitanTV.com shows that MyValley (50 on directv) has an ACC Network game in the right time slot on Saturday, but it's listing it at Liberty at VT. But it also shows that on the same slot for 10/1.
Also, some gas tanks of dual sport and off-road motorcycles had issues with ethanol fuel eating through the plastic gas tanks when it was first put on the market.
No cookies though. F#@k those guys.
Yes it's not the greatest. It's an older branch of train similar to Chicago metra. It'll pick up at millennium park which is right in the heart of downtown Chicago. It'll take you all the way to south bend airport which is on the other side of town. It's about a 15-20 minute ride to campus from there. I just checked the schedule and first train gets into south Bend about 2.5 hours before kickoff (lose an hour going from Chicago to south bend) So might be stretching it if you want to check out all the sites on campus first. Used to be 7am train that'd get you to south bend at 1030am local time.
If anyone is going to drive, park at St Mary's college for half the price and walk the mile to campus. The masses will lead to the grotto, golden dome, basilica and touchdown Jesus on the way to the stadium. Easier in and out from there too.
Well I guess my online Masters of Information Technology degree that I have on my wall from Virginia Tech is worthless and just a flaming pile of crap. So much for wanting to improve myself and to have a piece of paper on my wall with VPI on it because I couldn't afford to go to my dream school for undergrad. Sorry for the sarcasm, but my hard work being called a "crappy product" struck a nerve along with other individuals' comments poopooing on online degrees.
I'm not naive enough to think that I got the same level of learning as if I attended grad school in Blacksburg, but I found it extremely valuable for improving myself at work. I was working lots of overtime to provide for my family and was a new dad while taking these classes. It would have never happened if it wasn't for taking classes online.
At the end of the day, the piece of paper might help someone get in the door, but once the work starts, we are ultimately judged by the quality of our work and not the piece of paper on our wall or even what means of learning (online or brick and mortar) we used to get that degree.

2011 was fun too
Right, edited.
I did think GTs D was better than I expected. Their O, tho, isn't what it used to be. Thomas used to be so dynamic. PJ coached that right out of him.
I cannot wait to see Mook unleashed on Georgia Tech a la Kyle Fuller in 2013. He will destroy them
I can see Mook replacing Facyson at corner
Dresser's always been a great guy. A long, long time ago I was a high school wrestler who competed in the same district as Grundy High when Dresser was in the middle of his tremendous run coaching that squad. Senior year, he invited all the kids from the district who had made it to State to come down to Grundy and prepare with his squad (they all made State). It was fantastic just being in their facility and listening to him. Great guy, great coach.

I have to admit, USCe does seem to be confused geographically.
