Under on Oh - sh*ts. Its not happening again. Under on total passes. Eastern will not get enough first downs to keep throwing the ball like they have been. Under on pass TD's. We will have more on the ground than in the air this game. Under for Nelson - see above, and Summers. Mars has more. The power back wearing down a spread out D in the middle is more traditional in this type of O, and I think the way Fu wants to go. Mac gets more yards, but Mars more carries. Passing in the order given. Zero on forgetting who there coach is. I never bothered to learn the last, and expect to have less reason to remember this one. I'll take over on the score, but my lease confident bet. I feel good we cover.

Nothing stat line related, but I gotta say, and I don't remember seeing this in the past, when Slye kicks one for a touchback, I love the kick coverage team running into the end zone and pumping the fans up. You can just see the energy they are generating.

Good point - I was going to post something about this in the OP. New England has made it public what their kickoff goal is (Kick high in the sky, ball lands on 1 yard line to force return)

Tell that to my wife. She still curses at the mention of Erin Andrews to this day, but there's a story behind it.

So it's half time at Lane Stadium on a Thursday night. We're playing #10 Clemson so Erin Andrews is there and setting up her shot for the halftime report. My wife was in guard so she's on the outer edges of the forms near the sidelines where Erin Andrews is. So she's in her starting spot and getting ready to step off into her first set. Well, Erin is about 10 feet away talking to her camera guy and waiting to do her report. My wife yells over to Erin, "Hey! You need to move, you're in my way." Erin turns around and scoffs at her with a "you don't tell me what to do" look. Time didn't permit any debate so the band steps off and my wife starts into her routine to her next drill spot and runs right through Erin Andrews and whacks her in the shoulder with her flag. Erin Andrews calls my wife some expletives to which she replies, "I told you to move."

Its interesting how this 25 yard line rule is impacting college vs the NFL. In college, even the teams that are known for Special Teams are now actively trying to kick the ball through the end zone and just settling for having the ball on the 25, which has drastically reduced the number of returns overall, which is the goal from the beginning due to the injuries those plays result in. In the NFL, kickers are now lofting kickoffs, aiming to have them land inside the 10 yard line, which is causing a spike in returns.

No but seriously.... Our Athletic Department as a whole right now is on an unbelievable trajectory. Football looks like we actually legitimately have an offense. And not just an offense, but a pretty darn good one at that, which should vault us back up to where we should be in the national scene. Basketball is acquiring talent like we never have before to the point where we might actually be a team with staying power once we reach the levels of ranked teams. Wrestling looks like we're actually legitimately gunning for a National Title, and we very well could have the pieces in place to make a serious run over the next 4 years. Women's soccer is quietly right there as well, having established itself as one of the top programs in the conference, a conference where any of the Top 4 teams in any given year could win the National Title. And then you have baseball, which just announced a massive renovation project to turn English Field into one of the better facilities in the ACC, which should pay off dividends in recruiting once its done.

Seriously, its hard to realize everything that's legitimately going on with the program right now. Whit Babcock has completely transformed this Athletic Department overnight into something that is striving to be the best. I never thought I would ever see the day where some sort of complacency and falling back on the "well, we're just a small school from SW Va, what do you expect" really didn't exist anymore, and yet here we are. Its really unbelievable what's going on in Merryman nowadays.

Thanks. Unfortunately I went home for BaB and won't be back until Thanksgiving. Too bad there's not a tagging feature here or I'd tag HokieGirl or krak_t or WiseHokie, if he wants to make the drive.

thank you, if we win 10-11 games, beating ecu isnt going to keep us out of the CFP or a new years bowl...ecu is better than a lot of (most?) G5 teams that top ranked programs play against

I saw a cheeseless vegetable pizza at the grocery store yesterday. I said, Hey! It's a French Pizza. I'm glad it was just me and the 11 month old there because no one else would have gotten the joke.

The secondary is young but talented with sophomore Corey Seargent and freshman Colby Gore manning the main cornerback roles.

Beat me to it...

It's probably going to take until 2019 before I'm used to being excited about both football and basketball at the same time
