I understand what you are saying, but even making a 53 man roster as a safety is nearly impossible if you lack coverage skills as you are suggesting. He managed to play in 23 games over 3 seasons, so to me that says something about his ability and he may have started one season due to the player in front of him being suspended, but he also started the next year as well.

I'm starting to get worried that we're going to fall down this hole of calling Eastern Carolina the wrong name so long that we keep finding new ways to change it and that some day we'll end up changing it back to the original. Kind of like Garry "Jerry"/"Larry"/"Lenny"/"Terry"/"Barry"/"Gerry" Gergich "Gengurch"/"Girgich" from Parks and Rec where he finally gets called by his actual name at the end.

# | Examining Mook Reynolds' Role as Virginia Tech's Nickelback I love Cody Grimm, but he started because the guy in front of him got suspended for the season and he only got to even play a few games before injuries took his career essentially. Also, depending on Tampa's scheme, covering the slot and playing safety can be quite different. It's not really an argument that he was inadequate in that whip/nickel coverage at VT.
edit: I want to clarify that all these comments stemmed from my comment that I'd pick Mook over CG 10/10 times, which is from a schematic perspective. I am not trying to belittle CG, I believe my assessment of his coverage is correct, but overall he was an incredible playmaker for our defense. But if I had to pick one to have for our defense today, I want Mook.

It's not a perfect measure either, because it is clock time and not actual time. So when you run the ball you decrease the pace due to the clock continuing to run even though in actual time you might line back up and run the next play very quickly. Against BC, the Hokies rushed on nearly 70% of offensive plays which definitely drove the pace down. And of course there was more clock draining later in the game.

After the snap, the DL got stoned by OL. The field side had four BC defenders versus two blockers and Williams motioned out on a screen. To the top of the field, the corner and safety are double teaming the WR who is releasing like he is running a deep fade.
Back on the inside, you had a big numbers advantage- five OL and Cunningham as blockers plus Motley versus five BC defenders.
OL stones the four pass rushers. Cunningham had an excellent block to seal the remaining linebacker to the outside. Chung releases and has nobody to block, so he runs and cuts off the field side safety (who is running in from outside the hashes. Motley outraced the boundary safety to the end zone.
Basically, the Hokies used the spread and the screen fake to spread BC out, and once Motley got past the front four there was nobody there.

If Sam caught the ball at or behind the line, it wouldn't have mattered. Deablo's turning back to the end zone both 1) lets him get open if Sam is covered and 2) avoids offensive PI if Sam had drifted a couple more yards downfield.

I think there is only one Axis, the y-axis. Because it would be difficult to see one column with all 125 dots, the spread across the x-axis is so that the 125 teams are not all on top of one another. For visual purposes only.
This is correct...random jitter is added so that it is easier to differentiate the points. There is literally no meaning to it and it is completely random noise added in that direction.

I think your original assumption (if I'm reading your comments properly) was correct. "Domer" is a nickname for Notre Dame fans. OP was not stating that his wife is a donor, although she very well could be.
Game should be available on Watch ESPN, if you have access to that. I watched the Liberty game using it, even though it was being broadcasted locally here.
Assuming week 1 wasn't a fluke, it looks like blackouts for streaming the ACC Network games through ESPN are gone.
Edit to add: Yeah the ACC app with live streaming looks to be limited to phones/tablets. I was able to mirror the BC game from my tablet to a fire tv last year, so that could be another option.
