Targeting almost always gets reviewed anyway.
My preference would be for the review to confirm the call before it gets made, rather than only as a way to exonerate the player.
I love the barking.
We need to be dogs. Sled dogs. They have clear leaders. They work as a team. They WANT to work. They keep pulling, dragging the sled, together. They don't care about where they're going. That will take care of itself if they do the work and drag the sled, every day, as a team.
Give us a sled dog team.
Excellent write up and analysis. Totally agree it was the correct call. I love these kinds of posts on TKP.
Totally agree about it being a low scoring game with the old staff.
.....which was followed up a week later with the beat down by Clemson in the ACC cg.
Does anyone know if Lefty addressed the media after the game? I'd like to know his thoughts
Loeffler was only good under Addazio, so
Maybe the Stache needs to take over.
Even yesterday, Loeffler was lauded as some qb guru. Where did that reputation ever come from?
Impressive list...
Yep, a lot of our struggles with ECU have been
On offense. We scored 28 last year, to an ECU D who gave up 31 to UFs terrible O, 45 to Navy, 23 to SMU, and 45 to BYu.
The year before, 21 but it took two Miraculous catches by Ford. The year before: 15. 2012: 17. Tyrod lit them up in the 4th QTR in 2010 when we scored 40-something.
Let buds D do their work, we will win 41-17.
Agree with all of this. And that shot confirms nothing to me. Like I said, at worst it should have stood as called. It definitely shouldn't have been confirmed.
It is really exciting. BC is not a great team, but they have always been a solid team with a good OL and great defense. It was extremely impressive to see us move the ball the way we did. I thought there was a stretch (2nd quarter I think) where it felt like we got a little conservative and took the foot off of the gas. However, it was awesome to see some creativity and rhythm on offense (something I feel like we have lacked for years). I turned to my wife and said "this is a game that would have been 13-6 with the old staff".
I hope we can build off of this and remain consistent. My concern is that we will be inconsistent with a new offense, have some growing pains, and struggle at times.
I will add all the Auburn fans laughed when VT hired him. I guess it is our turn to laugh at BC.....
Don't forget about Boykin's hands.
Edit: Because ESPN sure didn't.
Whew, I was starting to wonder about you, sir...
Because Tennessee
Leg for you sir!
I remember when we recruited Nic and I would have never guessed he would have been the leader he is for our team today. VERY HAPPY AND PROUD OF HIM!
You all have made great comments on both sides of the coin. Lefty made me emotional. I don't like to get emotional in that way. But seriously, He has a tremendous work ethic but not the ability to develop and then execute a sound strategy. This includes adapting and overcoming adversity through out the game based on our strengths. WF was a perfect example.
Remember when we got into that discussion a couple years ago when Thomas was "paid back" for running over a LB in a bowl game and there was no foul? That was more clear targeting than this.
The helmet to helmet that got Evans in Bristol?
The blindside block outside the pile that got Peoples (?) in Bristol? The one where they picked up the flag?
If I heard that bark but didn't see him, I would be expecting the largest dog that mankind has ever seen.
Speaking of polls, can we talk about why Miami jumped 10 spots for beating App State?
I think it unfair that our turnover will be credited to Evans as an INT
HEY GUYS, WE RECEIVED A VOTE!!
lol
I really don't fault Gaines. The speed of the play and aggressiveness that is expected makes this one of "those" football plays. They are going to happen. Sucks for him and the team but hopefully he will get meaningful defensive snaps against ECU!

Say no more, fam
