35-0. Fourth and 15 at Tech's 32 yd line and they're going for it. False start and now it's fourth and 20 and they decide to punt. What?? You're down 35 zip and you punt? What difference did 5 yds make at that point?

Good to know. Thanks Joe. I always really enjoyed Mason's stuff, and he was engaged and passionate in the comments without being a dick. Hope all is well with him.
You can now become a member of Team Doughnut, just edit it in your profile.
More teams than just ECU will have to devote time to scheming against us. Could shake up the whole division. UNC had their hands full with a fired up squad last year, surviving on a call that should have gone to league headquarters for review. They haven't been consistent yet this year.
Mason is focusing on more important real-life stuff. He has an open invitation from me to publish any thoughts on Virginia Tech football if has the free time and desire to do so.
As bad as the BC offense was yesterday, I was amazed by the amount of dropped passes.
They had several good plays where a guy got open and promptly dropped the ball.
Lefty resurrected some O talent and at least implemented a system as opposed to the monkey humping O we had with Stiney. To me his biggest downfall is his lack of ability or refusal to adjust. A lot of the plays Fuente ran existed in some form in our playbook last year. Use of personnel and play call sequencing are the biggest differences.

I all for team donut, but not over team pie. I love seeing the D get a donut, and support this type of donut 10000%. I also enjoy donuts for breakfast. I just refuse to put them in the dessert category. I don't recall ever seeing one on a dessert menu. I'll take team donut for breakfast, or Donuts Foster, but am still on team pie for dessert.
You know people who claimed the earth orbited the sun were considered a cult at one point. Truth is truth man. Give it up.
I agree. I'm guessing he would rather be paid as a WR at the next level, too. Now if he could just start catching like an elite one to match the physical dominance.
In for Team Donut!

Frank is such a class act. I know it shouldn't, but it continues to amaze me how many people outside the VT community revere him. The respect for him is well earned.
Those must be the brownie points.
This is what I was looking for most, not only getting the team psyched but the fans as well by winning more home games. Just hope more fans stay around to the end to sing Tech Triumph with the players and the band at the end of winning games.
Exactly. Let's not pretend for a moment that without high quality mobile QBs with the ability to improvise, we ever would have become the contenders we learned to expect to be.
Ricky Bustle was decent at working with what he had. IMO, Stiney and Loeffler were very similar in terms of game-day play-calling: dependent far too much on their idea of what should work, instead of what actually was working on that day. As such, while their playbooks were much larger than Bustle's, they were much worse on calling the actual plays for a consistent offensive performance.
The only coach I thought we had, briefly, that was worth the title was Kevin Rogers, and while I don't know if we could have kept him for long anyway, it is a shame that wasn't recognized at the time by Frank Beamer.
Now we have Fu and Corny, and it was unbelievably gratifying to see plays that they found were working called over and over again. Granted, the scheme allowed that to occur because a whole lot of things were working out of the same sets, but this was true for Loeffler as well -- receivers were often open, but the read progression depended on more than most College offensive lines could give, much less Virginia Tech's.
The turnaround in my mind truly started with Coach Grimes resetting the expectations and mentality of Offensive Line play, and was cemented with Searels' continuation of that passion and coaching acumen.
Without the changes in offensive philosophy that started way too late IMO, coach Fu would have had far less to work with, and this year would would likely be chalked up as a probable breaking of the bowl streak.

# | Hokies get "doughnut" on defense, offense breaks out in big way to blank Boston College I'm not sure Fu is rethinking their commitment : )
I would leave my spot on Team Cookie for Team Doughnut. They are my fav. Chocolate glazed Krispy Kreme.......
Tempting as that might be if you throw in powdered donut holes with the crispy creams, I've got to stick with team pie.
They can join the club
Haha, yeah. VTCC has to learn all the words freshman year before football starts. I definitely remember realizing that we were the only ones singing the words.
Well, absolutely screwed up FSU
Got Ole Miss
Oregon Covered
So far A&M is covering me
Notre Dame is absolutely destroying my record (and I can't stand ND so I am fine with it)
Ohio State is backing me.
Edited: 4-2 with a Notre Dame Loss. I can live
A leg for that.
I'm on team ice cream, and I have a voice.
EDIT: We're like the swiss when Team Pie and Team Cake are fighting

In the immortal words of Rodney King (more or less): Can we all just get a donut?
