Loeffler's system was a complicated (possibly too complicated) system of interlocking routes that allowed different guys to get open at different times in sync with the quarterback going through a progression of reads. Fuente's system is designed to use formation and motion and deception to get one guy open, often quickly. All of the receivers who understand the offense know who the likely guy is pre-snap, based on the play and the defense they see; the key to Fuente's scheme is to keep the defense from knowing.

They are testing at VTTI this week, I've watched their flights today and yesterday from my office in the industrial park.
It could be much more simple than it is. Courage, consistency, and common sense would be necessary, however. All things that are in short supply these days.
And.... that's all that I will say in this community.
I agree with this. I also think that after Stroman missed it the 1st time they should've put someone else OR given Stroman assistance over the top (like with Clark).

Positives:
- The defense held a pre-season hyped offense to 3 - 13 on third downs thats 5 - 28 on the year.
- Jerod threw 0 picks and was 71% on the day. Hes thrown 5 TDs and 0 picks and is 66% this year.
- We put up 400 yards of total offense on a stout defense.
- Were batting about 50% for 3rd down conversions, last year in two games we were 41%
- Were averaging 30 points per game.
Some things to work on:
- ESPN lists our offensive efficiency as 25.4 which ranks us 113 in the country, aka 9 fumbles in 2 games
- ...Maybe its not all coach speak, because you can see the potential...but its just not...consistent yet...
I appreciate Loeffler and his work ethic while he was here, but personally, I hope we embarrass him Saturday so badly they start questioning how long his tenure at BC will last.........

picture only shows it in that context. The WR had time to stop his route turn and come back to adjust for the ball. Perfectly placed on that route wouldn't make the WR have to adjust in that manner. That was also the better thrown of the 2 balls.
I'm a little confused by the following
On most of the pass pro plays, you see three guys half halfheartedly running routes and not looking for the ball, and one guy going 100% and looking for it. I know that is Fuente's offense...
are you saying here that the receivers fit Loeffler's system better which is why 3 are running 50% and one is 100%? I was under the impression Fuente needed all receivers to be going 100% to fool the defense. The wording makes it sound like Feunte's offense runs 3 at 50% and 1 at 100%.

# | Slept On It: Hokies Open Strong, Limp Home After Frustrating Battle at Bristol Yeah, this is an even brighter picture than the hope that Tyrod left us with after the LSU blowout in 2007. After that game, there was at least a muted "At least we have Tyrod" feeling, but it was rooted in the knowledge that you needed his mobility because the systemic failure of the OL and offensive scheme was a macro problem.
I left this game thinking we have a scheme that will put up points, we have a lot of weapons, we have smart offensive coaches and we are about 10 deep on the OL (if unsettled). And it sure as hell looks to me like the defense is considerably better than last years, even without Dadi/Maddy/Fuller.
BC scares me with their physicality and I dread the thought of Loeffler getting the better of us in some deep seeded self-doubt nightmare. And ECU, uggh. But if we get better, if we trust in the offense and let the defense do it's work, we'll win both games by 2 scores and get ready for UNC.
Someone microwaved tuna today.

Guys like Ford and Phillips have plenty of experience but are still relatively young as they just started their junior years. A young rb bunch and a new qb adds up to uneven play so far. Let's just hope it keeps improving as these guys become a closer team
So basically the jig was up once Tennessee figured out the o-line couldn't handle blitzes. Wasn't the line supposed to be a strength this year?
I will say I'm very optimistic though. Our offense for the first time in a long time looks like it could be a problem for people. Let's hang on to the damn football eat up that weak ass Loeffler offense.
DC is probably the best alternative: it's something of a destination, the stadiums are set up for use, easy enough to get to for all teams, and the weather is comparable to what it's like in charlotte that time of year
after that i'd say orlando and philadelphia for permanent cities
another possibility is setting up a rotation of X number of in conference schools that host it.
more crazy idea: buy city stadium (22k seats) from Richmond, and renovate it to about 45-55k and lease it out to the city and use it for other events (i'm not sure that's even possible for a conference to own a stadium)
finally: just do what they did in Friday Night Lights (show) and play it in a massive field somewhere
