I haven't finished the thread just yet, but one small thing I noticed in the misdirection jet-sweep with M-Reeves (3rd vid) was that #85 for State was initiating some pretty minimal and piddly blocking, which (I believe), had he exerted more effort, could've helped the back pick up even MORE yds, if not, sprung him loose free to the house. What say you?

I'd say 2014 @ OSU was much more nothing to lose than this. (Some) folks are giving us a chance. NO one gave us a chance in 2014.
If we beat Tenn, people will just say that they aren't back yet but I think the biggest part of the equation will be how both teams play the rest of the season. If we beat them and then drop off ala 2014, it was a fluke. If we beat them and then play good ball and have 9 wins and Tenn has a 9-10 win season, then the win looks a lot better and so does their loss.
Tennessee definitely has more to lose in this game than we do though.
At the minimum there will be concessions outside

I wouldn't say we have nothing to lose. From a national perspective view, we don't have much to lose but with recruiting and momentum I think we do. A loss against Tenn, especially a bad loss could impact recruiting. We will look like this is a bigger rebuild than it is and that could discourage some of the top recruits. It will definitely hurt the momentum we have been building since the hiring of Fuente. A win though would be huge on all 3 fronts.
Is it possible for Fuente's scheme to win a National Championship? I think yes.
Is it possible for Fuente's scheme to beat a Saban coached team? I think yes.
Could our current roster beat Saban's current Alabama team? I think No.
I think if we score more points than the volunteers we will win
I'd be inclined to agree if Saban didn't hire known recruiting violators.
I think in this case, it's not whether you win or lose, but how you play the game.
If we're competitive, it's a bonus either way. If we win, double bonus. If it's not a competitive game, we get a black eye over it.
All of that said, I'd LOVE to see a win. The narrative, of course, will be that Tennessee isn't good if that happens, but it would still be a nice win on the resume.
I think a double charge might be in order for the first time we score. If it's the first time Skipper is fired out of state, it should be reminiscent of the first time she was fired in Blacksburg.
One of my friends is the Dir of Ops at Furman University and it seems like a really, really cool job. I'm sure it's high stress at times and a tremendous amount of responsibility, but lots of people are built to thrive in that pressure.
I think the waterboy is going to be playing offense and special teams in addition to defense because you can't hold anything back

It's easy to allege that they're getting results by cheating, and it's not like I've got any knowledge either way, but I gotta believe that by now they would have been exposed if it was that blatant. Maybe I'm just naive, who knows.
Anyway, as a football fan, not just a VT fan, I really enjoy watching what CNS is doing. I wasn't alive to watch guys like Rockne, Lombardi, or Halas, and I was too young to really appreciate the greatness of Bryant, Walsh, or Landry. But now, I get to watch a true master of his craft at work. Sure, there are and will be other great coaches, but a generation from now I'll be telling my grandkids about "the process" and how no one before or since did it quite as good as Saban, the same way that I'll be telling them that no matter what they might think, Michael Jordan is still the GOAT. Rather than throw stones out of jealousy, I'll just sit back and enjoy, and hope to one day see Fuente lead us into battle against him.
