I understand why they don't have Manning or Beamer doing the picks. Both would be great, and Manning honestly would be pretty damn entertaining I'm sure. But Gameday very rarely has someone directly related to the football programs playing do the picks. Its maybe a superfan of some kind, but usually not a "recent" former player (although I know they have done some former players - i.e. Joe Namath)

Like Aaron Rodgers for the game at Lambeau last week was a perfect guest picker. Beamer might be too polite as is his won't and not say a remotely negative thing against any of the teams being picked, and having a guest picker that's completely in the bag for one side is not very interesting either.
