We saw about perhaps half of the running game scheme. Didn't see the counter, the QB counter, the quick pitch, outside zone to the tailback, QB sweep, etc. We saw only one or two inverted veers. There is a bunch more out there.
They will get plenty of runs this season. I'm not concerned about it. Put them in when it counts, not when it doesn't really matter and your linemen are still working out the kinks.
Pure Speculation here: I think it is tough love from Vice. I think Vice sees a lot of himself in Teller. Teller will eventually respond in a positive way and lead the OL to greatness. A Lifetime movie in the making.
absolutely a guy can dream!
in my dream for the Battle at Bristol, our D gets Dobbs and the Vols O so flummoxed that we get a pick-6 in the 1st quarter and recover a Dobbs fumble to give our O a short field in the 2nd
I know Evans didn't run the zone read much but one time he did towards the end of the half he misread the DE and was tackled for a loss.
You saw the same thing I did re: Peoples' blocking, but I didn't realize it was so widespread.

Here's the thing... With FSU and Clemson doing their thing, they don't have to talk up the ACC anymore. The conference has risen and has proven itself. Listen to everyone out there, whoever comes out of the ACC will get a playoff spot. That wasn't an assurance even last year before Clemson did their thing.
They have to talk up the Pac 12 and B1G are because for the most part they have looked like garbage for a while now. And they are talking about the SEC because they just had their worst single week since like 1992 in a time where they're supposed to be the alpha dog conference of college football, and that might not be the case so much anymore.
If you ask me, give it 2 more years and the ACC as a whole will have passed the SEC in terms of numbers of good and elite programs. Clemson and FSU are already there. UofL and UNC are right behind. Miami and VT are quickly on the rise and will likely setting up shop as a resurgence of the elite Big East rivalry it once was, and with a middling pack of NCSU, Pitt, Cuse, GT and Duke, that'll be 11 teams that could potentially beat anyone on a given weekend. Conveniently, the ACC Network should be ready to launch right when the conference starts to hit its stride.
Don't worry about the perceived lack of attention now. Soon enough, they'll have to start talking about us.
I don't claim to be the expert that French is; but it seems to me Rogers would be much better in the role Peoples was trying to fill and Shai(and possibly Travon, if he can block) would be the better option at tailback.
French, I'm surprised neither your review nor the GIFtory mentioned Wyatt Teller's performance at 9:39 left in the 4th Q. I can't figure out how to post it because the original is longer than an hour, which appears to be imgur's limit.
but Groh was so bad ass. I mean, he eschewed the 3 piece suit for a sweatshirt when he roamed the sidelines.

God. That reeked of someone who desperately wants to sound like they are knowledgeable about football but hasn't a clue. It's telling when someone's predictions about other teams only talks about its head coach, because that means he has no knowledge about the actual program itself. And his comment that a pairing of Fuente and Foster can't work really sounds more like desperate longing than the authoritative voice he's striving for.
Also, when was the last time Virginia out-toughed and out-efforted anyone? Groh and London turned them into a program of creampuffs that folds the second they get punched in the mouth. Forget knowing the other Coastal programs, this clown doesn't even know his own.
That's correct. Fuente is not going to consult the depth chart to see who should get the next carry.
The depth chart is being used to dispense knowledge to the players about whom is behaving as Fuente instructs. Team, team, team.
Rogers is playing team, thus RB1. Teller is not, LG2.
Thanks French! Top shelf as usual.
Me too, the Teller thing has me bothered.
The first quote is from the analysis French gave, the second is listed (not linked, sorry) in parentheses.
I would except for the arrogance around the program.
I would feel bad for them, then some idiot tweets something like the thing above.
That idiot posted that after how many losses in a row?
and make one with "Make Tech Great Again!" slogan in case the first one gets canned as inappropriate (it could happen). Or even better, some sort of tear off front so you can get through the initial check, peel back the facade and get the real sign on tv.
I think it would be awesome to score 21 points in the first quarter (a la ECU did to us 2014) and then pull an FSU in the 3rd (scoring 24, not being down by 22) and cruise to a nice comfortable 48-10 win in Bristol
hey, a guy can dream, right?
My response has nothing to do with possible transgressions that may or may have happened behind closed doors. He said Petit was outplaying Teller. If you owned a television set and a pair of eyes, that clearly wasn't true. My response is no he's not.
Sadly it might hurt our schedule strength, but I would be perfectly happy with ND losing every game every year until they join a conference.
He came in rotation with Walker and Also got Run alongside Baron at times. He also played at the end of game with SS. The Dtackles as a group had a nice game. kept gap assignments and didnt allow a run over 10 yds.
Thanks for info guys. Love it
Lets hope our special teams turns in a BeamerBall effort SAT night!
Yeah, I got a charge out of the SEC had a bad weekend but is still the best conference and the PAC 12 and BIG are getting better. No mention of the ACC with one of the better records. Of course next week, we will hear about the PAC 12 is much better than the ACC as one of their better teams (Oregon) shellacs our worst team (LOLUVA)
