I noticed that as the game progressed they gout rid of one of the "Go Tech!" 's when we got a first down, but there were definitely still times when the band played into the actual play.
So, seeing UVA's uniforms in action on my TV screen....
Those helmet...Blargh. Skipping the part where the "V" looks better with a "T" than with scissors, the white "V" with orange outline and scissors is a better look. They went with an orange "V" with white outline and scissors. Plus, the numbers on the other side were the opposite -- white numbers with an orange outline.
Short version -- pick a color scheme and stick with it.
Point 5 of the contract:
"The University of Tennessee, home team and Orange jersey, and Virginia Tech, visiting team and Maroon or White jerseys."
Note that color vs. color requires NCAA approval, IIRC.
They have to earn them in practice.
Plus, February, March, April, May, June, July, and early August.
I've got to believe that...

Says unofficial right at the top. No way Fuente tips his cards this early. This is probably based on the preseason depth chart, and taking into account that Alexander is now available. Let's not overthink ourselves.

Alexander is a beast and won the starting position in spring/fall. With Stroman's big game and Edmunds' steady performance, the secondary looks legit. I hope I can say the same next Monday.
I'm hoping everything with Teller is an attempt to throw UT off somehow. Definitely should be starting.
He puts the "dumb" in dumbells.
Yeah this is mind boggling to me. I don't know what's going on either, but if it doesn't warrant a suspension, keeping him with the 2s is only hurting the team.
Pettit starting? What's the over/under for Hokies points in the first half because I'd probably take the under.
I don't get the Teller thing. There is a big drop off from Pettit to Teller & we need him every snap vs TN. Also , why is Rogers still #1??? Love the guy but cmon ....really?
Butch Jones only uses the top rack of dumbbells.
Butch Jones pronounces it "Fuentes"
Fuente said Alexander may not be the starter though. Coaches meeting later today.
I am a little surprised that Alexander is starting over Stroman. Stroman looked great against Liberty and with Alexander coming off a suspension I thought he might be bumped to second team. It would appear the Hokies have 3 pretty solid corners and a great nickel/whip in Reynolds.
Teller not being on the first team is also a little surprising but there is plenty of time for that to change during the week. Same thing with McMillian being behind Rogers.
One other thing to note is that Gaines didn't break the 2 deep, still behind Dooley.

UVA friend of mine last night..."well, at least they aren't going to string us along; I'm ready for basketball season"
Tennesse just hit Rock(y) Bottom
Butch thinks Jim Harbaugh is too tame
I just don't understand what is going on with Teller. It's no coincidence we started running the ball better with him in the game. Hopefully Pfaff ends up in there as well. I think that would be the best starting five available.

My film review will give more detail, but I am frustrated at the double standard here. I realize that Teller has done something wrong in the context of managing a football team, but if effort, commitment, and performance are the ultimate measuring sticks, Augie Conte should have a seat next to him on Saturday. Conte's feet were dead Saturday. He missed assignments. He couldn't take out linebackers on the second level. Braxton Pfaff was more consistent in his limited work. Parker Osterloh was pushing Teller last year and based on what I have seen, I would feel much better with Osterloh on the field. Conte's weight room and conditioning work is impressive, but it is not translating to the field. At some point, you have to find a balance- play the most effective players who also do everything asked by the coaching staff to show the proper commitment.
