"Last years team would have lost that game last night". As if the measure of them being good or not is how they compare to the 2015 Vols
So basically their argument at this point is that they aren't overrated because they don't suck like last year's overrated squad that sucked

We have a party of 3 as well, but we have two 64 oz growlers filled at Parkway this afternoon and Irish coffees ready to make. Also have victory scotch. Gonna do some eggs and bacon for breakfast and then burgers for lunch.

No, people probably think of other terrible events at VT. I don't want to go down that road; it is not my intention. The point was you can associate an asshole with just about any university. The ratings here are about football.

I arrived at Tech in the Fall of '65 joining the Corps of Cadets, so I was probably in the stands for Frank Beamer's first time in Lane Stadium. I was at the UVA game for his last regular season game. I've always been a fan of his.

another advantage to our new offensive system is that we won't have time to go into the kitchen to get a beverage while the offense comes up to the line, looks to the sidelines, goes through a variety of pre-snap motions, finally gets set, then gets 2-3 yards on a vanilla run( I guess we'll get to see that kind of offense when we play BC, though)

I'm not surprised, and I'm not ashamed. There are a LOT of adults that enjoy the game of football, even have a preference for a team, but don't have the emotional connection. My dad (62) enjoys watching sports, but has no real emotion tied to it. He'll get wrapped up in the moment, but even for his alma mater, he doesn't get that attachment. It's just a game, a form of entertainment.
I'd love to say every person at that stadium should show Beamer the respect that he deserves, but it's unreasonable to assume everyone has that connection, regardless of how long they've watched hokie football.
We were having this exact conversation tailgating before the Boise game. One of my buddies called for the flea flicker. That was met with chuckles and a 'yeah right.' Damned if we didn't open that game with a flea flicker.
