Honda EU2000i is a great choice, not the cheapest but very quiet & dependable (and it'll run your fridge & a TV if the power goes out at home). If you're not a satellite subscriber already, check out the DISH tailgater. Also depending on your budget, I recommend a dedicated TV for tailgating, you can get a decent sized LCD for a couple hundred bucks. If you're handy, a portable stand (possibly w/cover for rain protection) is a great idea. Streaming's much easier these days but you need decent connectivity to go this route, which is obviously highly variable.

As an alternative to a generator, you can hook up an inverter (many trucks & SUVs already have AC outlets ready to go), but this is hell on your battery if you use it with the vehicle off for an extended period of time, even if you're just powering, say, a small LCD TV and a roku or something similar.

That, or Teller surprises everyone and starts at left guard and we run the fumblerooski with him for a 74 yard gain, only to have him fumble the ball at the 1-yard line because he started to celebrate early and drops the ball where he proceeds to kick it out of the back of the end zone for a touchback. He then really does get benched.

Unless they put booms in the stands I'm not sure how much noise is really going to be heard. Bristol doesn't look like its built for crowd noise at all, it looks like it's built to let engine and racing noise out because it's thunderous.

Isn't that just common core math? Gut feeling?

You could write a book called The Art of the Tailgate because there are so many right answers to this. But here's our basic list:

- Tents w/sides, chairs, and tables, with extra stakes, rope, and ponchos. It's Bleaksburg, always assume wind and rain!
- Cornhole boards and washers game.
- Cheap beer, expensive bourbon (for the first couple), Jim Beam Black (for mixing the rest of the day), gatorade + water, red bull (and sometimes vodka), fireball on ice, sodas.
- Food: we like to hit Bojangle's for early games, I'll usually bring a grill and/or turkey fryer for later games. Time permitting, make a bunch of BBQ beforehand (e.g., a pack of costco pork shoulders will yield maybe 10lbs of pulled pork) and just re-heat at the tailgate. I usually bring my weber, mostly because I don't yet have a good green egg travel system.
- Sometimes we'll do themed food or drinks based on the opponent. Mojitos for da U, BBQ for any carolina team, etc.
- Waterproof bluetooth speaker + charger.
- A full change of (color- and weather-appropriate) clothes.
- Ibuprofen, antacid, paper towels, duct tape, knife, cigars, hand sanitizer, sunscreen, a source of fire, flashlight, etc.

Other considerations:

- What time is kickoff? No point in bringing a TV for a nooner, debatable for a 3:30, must-have for night games. If using a dish, practice aligning it beforehand. If bringing the TV, remember generator, cords & cables, and gas.
- What's the forecast? How windy? Rain or snow? Do I need extra clothes, hats & gloves, tarps, etc?
- Are the kids going? If so, bring games, tablets, extra clothes, blankets, favorite toys/books/video game/etc, snacks, drinks.

To be honest, they used more "gut feel" than math.
