Agree 100%. I live in TN - SEC and UT country. And trust me, UT's fan base has been completely overlooking their first 3 games....looking ahead to Florida. I believe this is likely true of the team also.

I believe last night wakes them up and we get their A game next week. Hopefully we bring ours.

This isn't an orange game right? Packing now want to make sure I bring right shirt.

That game last night also showed that you don't win just by showing up, regardless of your ranking. We have our own issues to resolve, and I just hope we're not caught looking at Bristol when we should be TCofB with Liberty. My initial reaction is not fear, but a little trepidation hoping that we don't get that "entitlement" attitude and end up in a close game ourselves tomorrow. Still and all, there were reasons enough from that game last night to have a bit more hope for Bristol.

The only thing that I feel is different about the game is that I'm hoping their fans have had their ego deflated a little bit. Lots of first half surrender cobras on TV, so I hope they are brought back down to Earth. Then I remember that with UT fans, that's not a possibility and most of them will just come up with an excuse rather than look at the fact that they won because the opposing kicker missed a PAT.

Yes. No doubt about it. Cautious/optimistic fans say they were very vanilla. But playing vanilla doesn't mean losing 13-3 going into the half. It wasn't like they turned on a switch at any point. Honestly, if they didn't play NCAA overtime rules (starting on opponent 25) and went to NFL overtime rules (normal play play with KO) Tenn would of been 0-1. App State moved the ball, Tenn couldn't keep a drive going. Besides one big pass play App State was the better team last night. Going into our game, as long as we don't try to be to flashy and players stick to their lanes I am way more confident now. App State was a good team, as mentioned very "Senior" but our talent pool is better and hopefully Fuentes has them coached well enough to run smooth quick plays.

Mandel is a self important blowhard and one of the most pompous writers in CFB.

But he knows his stuff and can be straight savage. I'm still willing to read him

I was expecting a lot more from UT. However, I expected a close game then and still believe it will be a close, hard fought game. UT is not #9, but are still a difficult team to beat. Reeves-Maybin will be back. His suspension happened so early, I do not think he will miss any time from the Bristol game. There is still concern for the fan split at the game. Hokies will be heavily outnumbered, but I do believe we will be louder. For now though, #BeatLiberty.

I was actually hoping Tenn would whoop up on App State and sleepwalk into Bristol. I think our chances of beating them were actually better before this scare at home vs App State. Now I think Tenn is going to go through an absolute hell week in practice and come to Bristol fired up and pissed off and determined to make a statement. I feel less confident now than I did.

Aha, so next time I see that rig I'll know to stop by. Never knew that was a TKP'er.

I recall reading your posts on TKP over the loss of your son. To post all that requires great strength.

I will remember your son this weekend and especially at Bristol. Go Hokies.
