Buffalo Trace and 10 Gallons of Homebrew (Session IPA and Honey Wheat), come find me tailgating and I will be happy to share!
I feel everyone is thinking the smell thing, without wanting to say it... FCS team that we should easily handle...
We must have confidence CJF had the team prepared and mentally ready.
It's great to have football back again, GO HOKIES!
Here is a little better background:
EDIT: Another Article with a little more background is here:
Enter Sandman-Written and recorded by the heavy metal band Metallica, Enter Sandman has been played in Lane Stadium since 2000 as the football team enters the field. The tradition of the Marching Virginians and other students jumping up and down during the song started on Dec. 1, 2001, when a Marching Virginians band member started jumping up and down during the song and was joined by his colleagues, establishing a new tradition. The tradition eventually spread to the entrance of the basketball team in Cassell Coliseum.
I think you meant to say Liberty will hang tough until the 4th play, not 4th quarter. Excellent interview, getting pumped for tomorrow. Slow cooker getting fired up soon, going beer shopping on the way to work!
Ha I was too! Educated guess watching the game for 2 1/2 quarters. For the good guys, hard to say we don't know what our team looks like. Last night just seemed like Tennessee had no other answer then hand-off's and a few pass plays. Kinda looked like our old playing card.
Beer: I usually will pick out a different craft beer each game. This game I'm bringing some crowlers from Aslin in Herndon, VA (fantastic juice-bomb/NE style IPA's).
Bourbon: This year will be John J Bowman from A Smith Bowman in Fredericksburg.
Other Necessesities: My go-to food is homemade chicken tenders made with Seasoned Flour from Big Spring Mill in Elliston, VA (You seriously do not know what you're missing unless you have fried chicken made with this flour). A Football, Cornhole, and Music consisting of classic rock, with the finale being Enter Sandman.

Damned straight. I was worried the men in black suits were gonna kill him off too when that chick visited his house. But you don't kill of the hero (unless you're GoT)
Now remember everyone, this is an SEC team so a game like this just proves how good teams find a way to win despite adversity. If Tech had played this game, it would have been a near escape that proved we're not up to par with our ranking.
what worries me most is that I don't think we saw UT's best offensive play calling last night. Yes, their line was porous (I loved when App State almost got a sack rushing three and forced a throw to the stands) and Dobbs' throwing was suspect, but I saw very few called runs for Dobbs and that was supposed to be a staple of their offense. I expect to see a lot more runs with big ole #1 blocking instead of carrying next week.
Combine that with one of their captains getting ejected early on and I can only be so giddy after this game and not yet seeing what we can do as a team. BUT, any time your opponent struggles against what should be a lesser team, it's encouraging. I just hope our guys keep the attitude of being an underdog because you can bet UT got some of their entitlement chewed out of them by Jones after that game last nigh.
Maybe it's more like they were looking forward to VT, and overlooked App State a bit.
I wonder how many plays they held back, as to not show their hand before Bristol...
Butch said "found" a way to win, but "fumbled" a way to win seems more accurate.
Does anyone see this setting up to have strong similarities to how the Ohio State game started to pan out a week before. Navy gave OSU fits due to offensive line break down. Do we foresee the bear style defense come back?
For the most part this. Even when they do move an OLB or ILB up to the line it's no guarantee that player will actually attack the line. It makes it more difficult for OL to know their assignment when there is more space and just more confusion in general.
Sometimes even in our 4 man fronts we may drop a DE into zone coverage and that play would operate more like a 3 man front.
Loeffler just needs "his guys". Heard that a few thousand times here.
So....please continue:
If you got to ask Bud one question for $500,
what would it be?
So, if UT loses next week. Will it be because they spent the summer preparing to play the App State offense?
I'll bring some money.
Holy Not How I Imagined You Batman! Hokietopher you are older, wiser and more handsome than I gave you credit for in my mind. Love the stache.
Respects again for Tyler. Honestly it's stories like this and all the shootings at schools that make me glad my girl is going to school here in China. Seems so weird to say that, but bullying here is almost non-existent and no guns whatsoever. Tyler though, is a champion having gone through that. I love hearing stories of quiet heroics. That's a real man.
I look at my daughter and sometimes I have the fears of losing her in my mind, and still I cannot imagine what you and your family have had to go through. It's soul crushing.
I will be looking for the UNOH logo in every screenshot during the game, but no matter the Hokies win or lose bud, Tyler is the true champion that day.
So sorry for your loss. May the Lord continue to comfort you, and may the Hokies win this one for Tyler!
UT's near loss to Appy State is a good news/bad news situation for the Hokies, it seems:
1) good news: UT is not nearly as good as their lofty preseason ranking, but
2) bad news: this near loss will make it easy for Butch Jones to light a fire under 'em before the Battle at Bristol
Fuck UT. I was nervous yesterday. Then I got drunk and watched this game. Go HOKIES
Details - what was it about and how many booths were burned in lieu of couches when he lost?
Wow. I think I must have tuned out the thread or missed it the week it came back, because I remember everything from before the announcement but not after.
I don't have a list of the stuff the guys have ready and we'll be picking up what we need tomorrow (Friday) so no, not yet.

Concerning the 5th star I imagine it is what you do with your Kuntz that matters.
