Hahah nice. That whole theme last season was nuts but relatable
I've always been a fan of ECU's mid-field North Carolina/Pirate hybrid as well.
Thanks, my beer buddy in VA has offered to send some up to me as well.
key lime gose by westbrook? #envious
I haven't heard of the other ones you mention, thanks for the notes. Very curious about the west coast sour guys. I'm heading to San Diego for a wedding in early Nov, I'll have to look around for them while I'm there.
I'll check the east coasters out, but PA has such Byzantine alcohol control laws that it's tough to get much of anything here from out of state except the larger brands. Westbrook apparently works with Charleston Beer Exchange where they're willing to send alcohol out of state, but they explicitly state on the distributor's site that they won't deal with any PA address at all.

The guy who sent me the Westbrook lives in VA, not exactly sure how he got it. Doesn't matter to me, I enjoyed it.
Mine took three straight running backs. I had a bridal shoot last night that I couldn't reschedule. Oh well. My #1 WR is Donte Moncrief.
It's ok for that GIF though because Tommy Lee Jones is a bad ass - even if he is kind of old.
Joe, are you predicting the 6-6 record mainly from the shroud of secrecy that the program has been under this summer, or do you actually think they'll finish .500 based on their talent?
And I think we should paint the VT at the 50 whatever color the game is...so for the Orange Effect it should be orange, Maroon Effect should be maroon, Military Appreciation should have the flag, and just do white for the other couple of games.
Agree. I've been on the 8-4 train since spring ball. Hype, but not full speed. 9-3 if we perhaps shock ND, but I'm sticking by 8-4 and hoping to be pleasantly surprised.
Random story but I ran into Wes Worsham about 10 years ago and he was complaining that the school moved his seats off the 50-yard line. Had to make room for bigger donors or something like that. My response was "How can they move your seats? Its your field!"
I like the 8-4. Let 's go Hokies

I do think this is killer for a throwback, but given the time/money/effort spent on the rebranding with Nike, including the new wordmark font, I thin this will never appear on Worsham Field again. In any form or color scheme.
And along those lines of the rebranding, I feel that the days of doubling up the "Virginia Tech" in the endzones is over also. This may not be seen for some time...

It's in the works I guess. They have been changing things out the last week.
Why are the K and the I touching? All of the other letters are spaced appropriately.
French has said many times that he doesn't do record predictions. I'm guessing that's why.
I know we don't officially use it anymore but I always thought the old school Fighting Gobbler logo at midfield would look great.
no french?
Frank Beamer face from Georgia Tech game in center
Another Pet Peeve time...
We have a school specific font that we just spent a few years with Nike developing that is supposed to unify the brand in everything we do athletically... Why have we not put it on the scoreboard and padding, yet?
Make both ends zones orange text on a Maroon background and the center logo white
Either that or one end zone white text on a Maroon background and the other white text on an orange background with a white midfield logo.
Doesn't get much more VT than that

If you look at the current track of the storm its heading right into richmond, in spite of that the national weather service only has a 40% chance of rain in richmond, this is because should the bullseye shift west richmond might get missed, likewise if it shifts east it could miss us.
For Richmond to get missed wouldn't that have to shift pretty far west ... as in the center of the storm would have to pass well north and west of Blacksburg?
I think they held the chances at 40% in Richmond in case it stays closer to the coastline. From what I've read there's going to be a pretty sharp cutoff in precipitation on the western side (which is good for the forecast in Blacksburg).
Shoot me an email. Might have a way to get you some DFH...
