I don't know shiite like the gurus here, but I'm in the Evans corner and was sold by watching his team's highlights from last year (not the hudl stuff). Of course, no one knows for sure, but having watched a few Memphis games from last year too, I think in his own mould he fits what Fuente wants to do (that's why Coach went after him) and can get it done. Paxton Lynch was special, but Evans is a superior runner and team's will have to account more for that. As well, his eyes always seem to be down field. More than the speed of the game, I think the size of the competition will require some adjustment on his part. There will be some pains, of the physical and growing kind, for him and the team, but when it all comes together, this Hokie team is going to surprise with him at the helm.

The year Tyrod showed up Kevin Kolb was slated to be the stop-gap starting QB until he slipped on a rubber mat, gave himself a concussion, and ended his career. Yes that really happened. That completely opened up the QB competition which Tyrod has run away with. My point was simply that, at that point, Tyrod had proven nothing in meaningful snaps so he had no leverage. He agreed to a contract that reflected his market value and Buffalo wasn't obligated to pay him more money just because he exceed expectations. That is that nautre of contract negotiation. Fortunately for Tyrod, the Bills brass stepped up and gave him a shiny new contract that guarantees him more money with a much higher ceiling but also gives Buffalo an eject button in case he doesn't do well this year.

My comment had nothing to do with the CBA. You can argue that NFL players should be paid more all you want but that wasn't what I was driving at. I was simply saying that outperforming your contract "value" doesn't mean you automatically get a new one.

It is indeed Worsham Field, however there is no bigger living fan of Frank Beamer than Wes Worsham. I am willing to bet Wes would be first in line to support an idea of this nature in regard to CFB. That being said I think the signature on the field might be a little too strong of a sentiment to have permanently on the field for eternity. The idea someone shared above with regard to painting the 25 yard line either orange or maroon would be subtle and become iconic IMO.

I think it was Blackledge that did his taste of the town in Blacksburg one weekend. I was ashamed of the result. He chose to go to some...vegetarian place? We are smack dab in the Appalachians and there is NO reputable bbq joint in Blacksburg. ESPN went to a vegetarian place.

I like the LSU purple-gold alternate color scheme in the end zone. I also actually like Tenn's checkered pattern too.
