Related to my post above: Can we get a list (maybe a new topic) about all the places in Blacksburg that you MUST hit if you go to school there or visit often? I feel like I've hit most of it, but can't help but feel like I'm going to miss out on something like Mike's again.

I agree, most of the time the reviews are enough for me to go anyway. Been to hole in the wall dive bars serving bellinis in Dallas that was super sketchy that was an amazing experience, but looked like a hovel on the outside. Some places can thrive like that. When your customer base/target audience is largely 18-22 year olds (with a healthy portion of 23-28 year olds), most of whom don't really know any better and a large portion who are international students, it's a difficult model to follow.

All the best to the Vardelos though. They seem like nice people.

To me the biggest problem is the town's reluctance to place student housing near downtown. Until that happens, pedestrian traffic will be minimal and businesses will be forced to get business from people parking which is difficult at best. I live in a small apartment complex couple blocks behind Mellow Mushroom and its great because I can walk downtown in 5-10 minutes.
Its not downtown exactly, but Prices Fork/University Blvd where the new hotels and shopping are going in (old Holiday Inn site) was originally proposed as high density student housing. The town balked at it and forced developers to reconsider and now there's no student housing there. The university is growing and the town recognizes more student housing is needed. Big question is where is it going to go? If the Retreat tells us anything, far from downtown

YES. Or at least if they insist on putting "HOKIES" in one, switch it to the South endzone. When it's in North the field reads HOKIES VIRGINIA TECH (since the midfield logo is upright to the west stands) and it drives me crazy

So besides following up on Joe's tweet about buying Mike's, we'll also open a travel agency. Nice.

He played the grim-reaper to the souls of all the GT faithful in that stadium that night, with the exception of Paul Johnson, since that knee-targeting turn-of-the-last-century sumbitch don't have no soul, and probably laughed the loss off all the way to the bank.

Since I can't find the true original source, I'm just going to copy paste this here:

Dear Technical Support,
Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance β€” particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0. The new program also began making unexpected changes to the accounting modules.
In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5 and then installed undesirable programs such as NFL 5.0, NBA 3.0, and Golf Clubs 4.1.
Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system. I've tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail.
What can I do?
Signed,
Desperate

Dear Desperate:
First keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an Operating System.
Please enter the command: " C:/ I THOUGHT YOU LOVED ME" and try to download Tears 6.2 and don't forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update.
If that application works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5. But remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0 or Beer 6.1.
Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will download the Snoring Loudly Beta.
Whatever you do, DO NOT install Mother-in-law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources).
Also, do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0 program. These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0.
In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly.
You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend Food 3.0 and Hot Lingerie 7.7.
Good Luck,
Tech Support

Both of those seasons we actually won the Coastal Division too.

To go a step further, we won the ACC as well.

I told you already. We WILL win that game. Period.

As long as we don't change the field to orange artificial turf, I'm a Happy Hokie.

Houston vs Oklahoma -10.5
Georgia -2.5 vs. North Carolina
Alabama -11.5 vs USC, I can't vote for USC in anything...
Clemson -7.5 at Auburn
Notre Dame -3.5 at Texas, I feel dirty voting for ND
Florida State -4.5 vs Ole Miss, for a second I forgot that all the good players from Ole Miss left.

It's definitely more of a thing during the homecoming game every year. Usually it's sorority girls cheering on their candidate and then not caring for the entire game and leaving at halftime. Obviously there are some members of Greek life that like the football team, but Homecoming usually brings out the ones that don't.

My brother in law caught somebody trying to break into the back of his refrigerated rig in Ohio. He closed him in and let him go in South Dakota.
