This doesn't make sense for either side. Bosa will not get that same contract offer now that he's going to miss time, and if he re-enters the draft after missing a full season he's not going to get picked as high, therefore slotting himself at a lower price.
The Chargers are basically willing to concede a 3rd overall pick over a couple million being paid 3 months earlier. They can't trade Bosa until March and there's no way they get fair value at that point for him as a 3rd overall pick.
In conclusion, both sides are going full retard.
