To be entirely honest, when I leave one employer, I don't expect to get anything from them. Once that relationship is terminated, it's terminated. If there is a severance to negotiate, then it gets negotiated.

In your example, I would think I'd lose my vacation days from my previous employer and I'd get whatever I negotiate with the new employer.
