I am a fan of the uniforms or at least ambivalent, but not a real fan of the helmets. I would like some maroon or orange on them.

Definitely wasn't trying to keep you in check, you have the right to rant, it is part of what makes this site fun to visit, just got a little chafed by some of the invective and felt like I was in the crosshairs for stuff I didn't say. You clarified that and I appreciate it. Truth is, I'd never have commented in the first place if the first person who said they didn't like them didn't get downvoted for saying so. I can be pretty perverse that way, myself, even when it is counterproductive. Soo, in the spirit of conciliation, and to try to say something nice about the uniforms, I will say that I kinda like the looks of the helmet. As for being a purist, I absolutely am a Hokie purist and elitist, but I try to save that for being a HOKIE in general, not for stuff like uniforms which are ephemeral. Interestingly, last night I was reading a book (Slow Burn, by Ace Atkins) and ran across a quote that seemed appropriate. I offer is as a light hearted ending to my post. Spenser says, "Every generation laughs at the old fashions, but religiously follows the new." I think its just supposed to be that way, and I accept it, whether I like it or not.

The direction taken for this was unexpected, compared to virtually all other hype videos including your own. But, this hype video exemplified this season to a T (maybe to a VT!). Focusing on this year practices and the new era instead of last year's successes, focusing on the Fuente era, building of the Lane Stadium, Awesome. It is time for Fuente Ball.

The number of teams that have not done an alternate or special uniform in P5 is down to a handful and Tenn isn't one of them, they have done them before.
Flights into DC (I'm guessing this is where I would need to go) are pretty cheap by flight standards based on that quick search... I may have to actually try to make this work.
