Just snap a pic of them and post as "iPhone 7 photo leak". No one will ever know. /s
I agree with you, the rating sites only consider a players talent. What many high school players do not realize is going to ANY football program whether it is FBS/FCS/DII/DIII is that it is work. You wake up at 5am you do a morning workout, you then go to class, then meetings, then practice. Football controls your life especially at a FBS school, and I imagine some players just are not ready for all of that.
Think about doing all of that and still being stuck down at the bottom of the depth chart going into your junior/senior year. I can understand wanting to go somewhere just to play.
I don't think he qualified for the trials...

it's all about the market at the time of signing the contract... IIRC tyrod had a chance to go to denver and be the back up for the year but passed on that opportunity to sign his deal in buffalo for a chance to start. Funny enough, brock osweiler was denver's backup last year and is now getting paid big money. If tyrod were a free agent this past summer, i think he'd have gotten a big pay increase
The NFL is a business, and tyrod took a chance, and hopefully him and his agent can make it pay off

Jk. I do think it's funny that if you aren't a P5, everyone assumes you are D2.
Here's an exclusive pic of one of the drillfield rabbits when they heard DW4 was coming back to Blacksburg.

Everything I had read indicated he came into Buffalo knowing it would be an open qb competition, which is why he came there. He didn't go in there expecting to be a backup. Also I had read something last week where they were trying to work out a bridge contract of some sort. Had seen numbers indicating 2 years and around 20 million or something of that nature.
I certainly have higher hopes for Wilson than a certain former UVa football player.
I hope he chooses to bring his talents to Blacksburg, again, but I wish him well in whatever he decides to undertake.
And then there's the individual all-around which will give us another Gold and probably the Silver too
Not that it was difficult to do, but I called that one. There's no reason Biles shouldn't take Gold on Beam, Floor, and Vault too. Kocian will be challenged by Russia's Mustafina for Gold though so that will be the one to watch. Otherwise, Kocian and Douglas should medal in Bars, Raisman again on floor, and Hernandez on Beam.
One big difference is Brock was signed specifically to be the starter in Houston. Everyone knew it so he got NFL starting QB money. Tyrod was a career backup who was expected to be a backup in Buffalo until everyone got hurt in his initial training camp and he took his opportunity and ran with it. He agreed to the contract he has, the Bills are in no rush to give him more money when they don't have to. The NFL isn't about being fair.
With his personality and resume, seems like he could do a lot of cool things.
What'd ya'll think of the game last night?
Caught a few plays with him in there, seeing that familiar stance you
could tell it was him. Thought he looked comfortable out there.
That's quite the offer list he had. Interesting how big name recruits sometimes
don't play out.

# | Developing Depth Still on the Hokies' Agenda as the Second Week of Fall Camp Begins I'm delighted to see Newsome changing positions so late in his career. I wish Trey would have done the same thing.

# | Developing Depth Still on the Hokies' Agenda as the Second Week of Fall Camp Begins Me too. I once asked a professor if the class notes were given (i.e. on the course website) or taken (i.e. you gotta write it down or you won't have it). She half yelled at me and said she wouldn't be providing anything. Taking notes means you have to pay attention more. It's up to the player to determine if that is a more effective strategy for them or not.
I wouldn't say they are drying up but maybe the total picture wasn't evaluated, potential, ability to pick up plays, being focused...all of that. Our top guys are going out of state so it's not like we don't have talent but looking at VT we had several 4 star recruits that were busts or left early....off the top of my head Holland Fischer, Joel Caleb, Nick Dew, Ray minor; Dwayne Lawson and Melvin khein
I know each situation is different and we have to remember that they were 16 or 17 or 18 when they chose to come to our school.
Yeah I don't love this either. But Tyrod was a backup for multiple years so he got signed for backup money and has a chance to prove that last year wasn't a flash in the pan. As long as Tyrod doesn't get hurt and he plays moderately well he'll get paid after this season. I'll love to see it.
As a kid from Virginia who was on a swim team for a decade, can confirm that the pool was a place where the neighborhood came together. Can't confirm the vitriol to or from the team, though.
Our last offense, you would have printouts of plays. This one, you have to draw out your plays. It helps you learn, drawing, writing stuff all helps you memorize
this stood out to me
a lot of offensive weapons this year. I just hope we can get the QBs ready to get them the ball.
As a child growing up in Virginia I can tell you the ridicule flowed towards the swim team kids, not from them. But I guess that was just where I grew up.
"We can all draw more than we can teach"
We call that Loeffler-ing
I'm just glad to finally have an offensive staff that understands that you have to get them to execute.
We can all draw more than we can teach, so you gotta reel yourself in. Brad (Cornelsen) does a good job of that, quite honestly, of keeping it paired down so we can have a chance to execute."
Somehow, I think 2016 is going to be a special season for VT and Fuente. I think with all that has been done in the short time he and his staff have been in Blacksburg , we will see a stronger and better looking team that will hit the field this season. Change will be seen.

Right now, somewhere, Jon Gruden is smiling and wiping a tear.
