I believe we are planning ahead, and looking at what we need to when this internet fad passes by. If enough people complain they will probably but a band aid on it and try to pass it off as the next great thing. Kinda like with the ACC network. /s

I'm no QB guru, but one thing that stood out to me is that he is very poised in the pocket and he is always looking downfield to throw even if he is scrambling a bit. He isn't just a guy that runs as soon as there is a little bit of pressure.

He still has 2 more years of HS left. He seems promising.

phew, no players on the tickets who could potentially be kicked off the team before said game...

Right.

Lawson is a talented guy, but Fuente has even said that he needs to adjust to college life and not put too much pressure on himself to be a starter. I think Fuente wants to redshirt Lawson this year to allow him to develop, get to know the playbook, etc. This time next year will be his 3rd year in the program and he SHOULD make a run at the starting job.

Competition is a good thing. We should have a few guys competing for the #1 job.

Yeah, I don't understand this constant obsession about whether or not Lawson will transfer based on every QB commit. I get that for VT, QB recruiting was very tenuous for a while, but at the moment we have a deep bench of highly touted guys. At one point, sure, Lawson seemed to be the heir apparent and the best QB recruit we had gotten in a long while, and it was a big deal because he was a Miami flip and we were basically a complete patchwork at QB then. But since that time, with Evans, Jackson, Hooker, and now Ellis, it seems that we are continually recruiting great guys at this position. If Lawson transfers, he transfers. It's not like that's automatically a death knell for the program.

So how many "QBs coming out of high school" do we have on the roster right now? And how many at any given time over the last few years? Sounds like another good summer thought project.

(I'm talking Sam, Travon, Bucky...was Stroman? This is the level of reach I'm going for)

Tennessee- L. I think it'll be close, I think Bud can come up with something to shut down their passing game and force them to rely on Dobbs' legs and Hurd/Kamara BUT I think they have the talent to pull it out.

SiriusXM's College Sports Nation did their camp tour from Knoxville yesterday, and I got the impression that there is actually some worry about UT's WRs. At this point in the year I know nothing about UT, but that was just the impression I got listening to them.

It was pretty clear early on that Koma was a great get. I hadn't heard of him before he committed to KeyPlay, Rivals had him as unranked but 247 gave him three stars. But since then it's been clear he's a five-star-get-after-it-talent at the journalist position.

Hahaha I noticed that as well. I wondered if maybe they had a little personal rivalry and #4 caught him flat footed and decided to put him on his ass
