I hear ya. But, I live in Nashville so will have to head through Knoxville at some point following the game.

I wonder if he's thought about trying out for the USA bobsled team.
Thanks for the link. Bummed he isn't going to make the trials. I wonder if he'll stick with it and try again; he hasn't been training for this very long, whereas his competition has likely been training at triple jump for years.
Most importantly, are you willing to facilitate that discussion through active involvement?
Props to eshiben over in the Weather Outlook for Beach Season thread for being awesome at exactly this.
If your caveats self-stifle the post and subsequent discussion, it shouldn't be posted.
I'm definitely about to post a thread about realignment but let's try not talking about any Big 12 teams or Notre Dame.
Side note: If you're gonna [Emma Watson GIF] can you at least try to be [NSFW content]. My Google searches are coming up short. /s
Oh yeah where in the outer banks do you live
Beamer hugged dudes too! He really is frank 2.0
Wasn't too bad if you didn't see any of it, but I think because we were actively trying to hold our tongues but still provide analysis at the same time (or avoiding the topic altogether or relating it to European fútbol).
I will say it was the best summary of the incident that I've seen that actually made sense to me, so I appreciate that.
And I did not mean to really call you out specifically for any of that. It was a well-composed post and the disclaimer was appropriate, but there just wasn't much discussion to be had that wouldn't have been a problem. The thread didn't get deleted because it turned into a train wreck (it didn't, so thanks TKPers) but it had the potential.
transitioning out of an El Nino, and into El Nino's sister

Apologies for that....
Didn't mean to come across and posting and running. I actually had a flight to catch and so I wasn't able to actively participate after the initial post. Apologies if the thread devolved quickly, as my intention was to attempt to keep the discussion about the facts of the situation and if I injected my own opinions and steered conversation before it had a chance, that was not my intention. I'm disappointed to see the thread down, but I completely understand the decision to do it, and no hard feelings here at all. Looking back, I totally get that there was no way for the conversation to move in a way that didn't end up with the thread deleted.
Cheers.
Living in the Outer Banks....i definitely agree with you, as long as hurricane season doesn't bring much damage (for me personally, and because of the duties of my job if it does happen)
Also, having our secondary with their backs to the play because of the need to play man coverage is asking a lot out of a first year starting linebacker who is the primary tackler. It exaggerates mistakes. Bud has already indicated that he doesn't think we will be forced into as much man coverage this year which should indirectly help take some pressure off of Motu.
I think that Motu was a young starter in a highly critical and mentally taxing position last year. Playing mike is akin to playing QB on offense, and many of the best LB's we've had struggled early on in their careers. So I'm very happy to have someone with experience there, and hopefully he avoids the injury bug. And figures out to attack and shoot the gap rather than simply fill it. The mental part of the game starts to click, and the game slows down for players at a point. A lot of these things come with time and experience. So I try to be patient.

This serves as a reminder of the hardships the people who serve in our stead put up with. Thank you for your service SIR!

when will we have a more experienced back end?
(sorry, couldn't resist)
when will we have a more experienced back end? Won't be this year.
then we got mortared which took out the generator.
...and we have a winner for best way to end a story about that awful game.
Agreed. He plays hard and sometimes he makes mistakes. I remember being frustrated with Kam Chancellor a lot for missed tackles and blown coverages and he turned out alright. Not saying he'll get to that level because that's unfair but it's pretty annoying to see him constantly bashed as if he was the reason we struggled last year. Our whole defense sucked and it doesn't begin or end with him.
I don't think anybody is more conscious of his mistakes than him, and I'm sure most of the players read this stuff. They're not pro athletes. It's gotta be close to impossible to not read the stuff your own fans are saying about you. As others have said above, let's at least wait until he's started for another season before we start blaming him for the fact that our highly touted defensive line can't get any pressure and DBU can't cover anybody.
I want the same thing for Moto I want for all our players:
1. Work your butt off
2. be the best man and win the starting job
3. kick the other teams' asses
4. Win all the games

agreed there is a lot to the position, but just once i'd like to see him flash and hit a RB like he meant it and deliver the blow rather than being taken for a ride.
