For most, football will not be their livelihood post graduation. But still, it's too early I suppose.
Maybe I'm getting you wrong. It's that but I think. You play to win the game, each and every game. That means getting up for all opponents whether you are favored or not.

I was seriously discussing yesterday with my colleagues that it would be epic if a portal opened and Orcs come out, starting the Warcraft series, tying Blizzard into this. The Humans and Undead are already there, there's at least 2 dwarfs, and maybe there are elves west of westeros?
I wouldn't put it past GRRM... but more than likely, that's just my personal interest.
The show may have magic, but it is grounded in being human. Magic isn't necessarily prevalent, it exists but more so in the margins. We are asked to suspend disbelief at certain times with the magic, but the attraction has always been the realism. We are led to believe that most of these things can actually happen. The show failed in the Arya scene, and a few other spots the past two seasons, in making us believe that it's real.

Don't get me wrong I'd be ecstatic if we beat UT or ND, but I'd rather see us taking care of business against ECU, Pitt, Duke, etc.
I want to see the team get up for the games we should win.
Just because you "should" beat teams doesn't mean it is safe to predict we will win. I've just gotten used to predicting at least two frustrating losses each year. These last few years have scarred me.
Why would you send them through the pony express? If you look at their records now they never won a game!
