ROFLMAO! Thanks, Chris. I needed that. I mean I guess it's possible that he may play more reserved and less aggressive, thus enabling James & Co. to do their thing. But also, I feel the Warriors will come out more aggressive as a team (whether Green does or not).

Find me a single sports writer making season long win/loss predictions that's including a bowl game outside of the CFP.
Every one that I see makes predictions based on a 12 game season.

It's always better to be the big fish in the pond. I think that is the basic point. Don't lose that game because then it opens up a lot of questions, and validation for stupid shit like #HOOSRISING and gives fuel to douchebags that run programs like the thoroughbreds.

If you're saying we go 8-5 as a floor thats more understandable than saying we absolutely need to go 8-4 or better. But I'd say 6-6 is status quo for the last couple years because thats what we've scheduled and thus have control over.
The qbs might have great arm talent but that doesn't matter if they can't hit the broad side of the barn or lack pocket presence. I think the bigger difference is going to be if we commit to running them
If the obvious fix was Kyrie Irving doing his best (superstar) Allen Iverson impression, then yes there was a fix.
He and LeBron both scored 41. Not sure having Green in would have made a difference between a W/L
I've heard people calling the Green suspension an NBA conspiracy (which is whatever, I'm not a conspiracy guy), but it's hard to argue that the refs were calling the game unfairly towards Cleveland especially with some horrific calls against CLE like the play where Kyrie clearly never went out of bounds. Also, Warriors were getting plenty of iffy foul calls around the basket. Calls went both ways all night. The main reasons the warriors lost is that outside of Klay (who cooled off in the 2nd half) nobody else was hitting threes, Curry was something like 5/14ish and Barnes missed a bunch coupled against huge games from Lebron and Kyrie.
Overall, it was another odd game that didn't really reflect how either team has played all season, and that's been the case pretty much all series.
Missed Monday's game, but I have heard a bunch of people talking about there was an obvious fix so that the Cav's didn't get steamrolled out of the finals.
How was the actual game?
3 of our last 4 years we have 7 win teams. Bowl games count towards your record. If you are saying we are going to win 6 games that insinuates we will go 6-6 in regular season play and lose our conference game, so no you are wrong.
Status quo is 7 wins + for VT for the last 20 years. Understand you don't want to predict if we will win/lose a bowl game, but 6 wins would not be status quo.
Definitely don't think we have great talent at the qb position, but I think we have qbs with better arm talent than Michael brewer which should be able to stretch the field.
Georgia or Texas
VT needs to start improving its footprint (playing ECU for the next 20 years does not help) and getting down south in SEC country/Texas area wouldn't be so bad. Not to mention Texas and Georgia have some awesome tailgates and the fans are pretty nice.
I supposed this is possible but like others here, I have a hard time getting past the injuries she sustained. Look back at the scene on the bridge where the Waif first attacked her. She buried that knife to the hilt in Arya's gut. This is medieval times - you die from that injury. A few stitches from a traveling gypsy actress and some liquid Oxycontin don't stop massive internal bleeding and stave off certain infection. I understand I'm asking for realism from a show that has dragons, white walkers, resurrections, and magic but come on. I think a lot of this was less about Arya's cunning and more about the show trying to make viewers believe they were about to kill off a fan favorite and then didn't.
Unfortunately, complaining to the refs is part of the game now, not an indication of softness. It helps to get you favorable calls later in the game. Tim Duncan complains to the refs constantly, do you think that he is soft? It is why Dwyane Wade and Tony Parker stay on the floor so long after they get "knocked down" instead of jumping right back up. It is smart gamesmanship because it helps the team. Name-calling coupled with repeated slapping and/or kicking other players nuts is not. Draymond needs to take lessons from Dennis Rodman on how to properly play that role without hurting the team.

you're just plain wrong on this. We have won 6 regular season games 2 years in a row. I'm only talking about regular season because that is the schedule we know we have.
The QB is not going to be put into a situation where he's destined to fail.
I'm not saying that the QB is destined to fail. I don't think we have the supreme talent everyone seems to think we have at that position. This season's result will depend heavily on the play we get out of the QB position and frankly we just don't know what we're getting there. At this point I don't see how you can expect anything more than what we know we have in Motley.

We aren't replacing tyrod taylor or MV at qb we are replaying a transfer who as tough as he was just wasn't a threat at the qb position. He isn't coming into a tyrod situation or Logan thomas' 2nd year where he had no weapons. I'm not nearly as high on cam Phillips as most are, but he has Isaiah and he has bucky and while I don't think cam is a true #2 wr he's still a consistent 500 yard/season guy. He has a 1000 yard rb returning he has 4/5 OL returning. The QB is not going to be put into a situation where he's destined to fail.
What has beating UVA gotten us?

In 2007, it got us into the ACC CG. In 2012, 2014, and 2015, it got us a bowl game.
In two of those years, it kept the same prize away from UVA.
I expect them to come out very focused as well. They don't want to end up on the wrong side of history. I think this will be a close game, but I hope it isn't.
