As some Raptors bloggers have said, it is actually advantageous for the Raptors to attack Whiteside regardless of the shot blocking ability. A lot of our offense relies on getting to the line. Especially with the shots not falling for KLow and DDR, need to generate better attempts at the rim and make the free throws.

Also...getting JV more touches is ideal. Miami doesn't have an answer for him inside on a consistent basis.

I have to think he is pointing to the information that came out around the NFL draft regarding Larry Tunsil at Ole Miss receiving improper benefits. The news around the draft was that even though Ole Miss had already been hit for him receiving improper benefits concerning a dealership and loaner cars, that it may have gone much deeper in his stepfather taking cash from a coach and other details regarding his recruitment. As for Boardinghouse, I suspect its a basketball fan forum although I am not a member so not specifically sure what the discussion there is.

Whats sad to see is the continued reaction of the Penn St. community and the Paterno family in specific, that will twist any way they can to explain how Joe Pa couldn't have possibly known!

At this point, I can't imagine any way that he wasn't aware for quite awhile. He was literally the most powerful man in that community. At the very least we know he was told at least once and did nothing. His own words "I should have done more", but he never clarified what he meant by that but it seems obvious. I've heard them say "It was the witnesses fault, they should have gone to the police, Paterno was just a football coach". As if a football coach doesn't understand when things are glaringly, horrifically wrong going on.

It will probably never be proven, and the monster is behind bars for the rest of his life now. But as far as I am concerned, you will never convince me that Paterno wasn't aware of this for a lot longer than just the early 2000s. And that leads me to believe there are a number of victims that could have been spared from having this horrible event befall them if he (and many others that seem to have looked the other way at Penn St.) could have manned up and cared more about kids than football.

I honestly hope Penn St. football is never relevant again. I'm from PA and I could never stand them, even moreso now.

As a recent graduate you might qualify for the reduced price membership check on that. But it will get you Hokie club points. Which are cumulative so in 5 years with 500 given you should have 10 points. Which will help with your seating selection when you do decide to join. It also get you the Hokie Sport magazine, a window sticker, if you have a local Hokie Club it will get your name on their rolls.

So I am not a member of the Hokie Club, but a (relatively) recent alumni thinking about joining. I have no intent of buying season tickets in the next 3-5 years. Maybe one day down the road, but until then, just 1 game/season in Blacksburg, one neutral site game every year, and 1-2 away games each year. What do I get if I donate $100/year, for the next 5 years?

Specifically in regards to Paterno - the man is dead and lived just long enough to see his entire legacy tarnished. What do people expect to happen when more reports come out regarding whether or not, and for how long, he knew? It's not like we can dig him up and posthumously charge him with anything and most everyone outside of the PSU cult already have a less than favorable viewpoint on him.

Now if you find info linking living people with covering it up then I'm all for going after them.

Oh they will definitely be going to the finals.... just sitting in section 111 rows 9 and 10

Or is it just that I can select my tickets earlier in the process than others.

It's your last sentence. Most of the comments here have understandably focused on the seat donation minimums, but the priority points system has been completely overhauled to provide significantly better priority to those with longevity of giving and/or buying season tickets.

In the old system, the first and overriding factor in priority was your Hokie Club level, i.e. how much you gave in the previous calendar year. That is completely removed from the new equation. Now it's based on cumulative giving, # of year of consecutive giving, # of years of consecutive season tickets, # of season tickets you've bought (all-time) and number of neutral-site/postseason games to which you've bought tickets (all-time). I'm not sure this will get as much attention from folks until they see their new ranking, but what is going to happen is the people who have been giving at a lower level/going to games for a long time are going to suddenly jump up in the priority ranks. For example, starting in 2017-18 a Bronze or Silver Hokie who has been donating for many years could have a higher Hokie Club priority ranking than a Golden Hokie who has only been donating a few years.

Football seat location is one factor (and the most important one for most folks) but your HC priority also impacts your selection order for your tailgate spot, your priority for high demand away games, etc.

I'm not convinced the stands will be packed. I hope they are. I, regrettably, will not be making the trip down for the Liberty game because I am going to the Battle at Bristol. I do plan on making it down for most of the rest of the home games. The Thursday Night game might be tough for me to swing but we'll see.

I agree, but that will be the FIRST one and with a new HC and Offensive staff, the stands will be packed and we, the fans, will be loud!
