There are three camps listed in the article.
ODU is scheduled to host camps with Michigan on June 5, Maryland on June12 and Penn State on June 16.
The invitation is left ambiguous, given the wording of the article:
ODU coach Bobby Wilder said he will call two ACC coaches – Virginia's Bronco Mendenhall and Virginia Tech's Justin Fuente – to invite their coaching staffs to ODU camps.

I just saw this new Nike polo. Could we see something in these colors for the alternate jersey?

# | Virginia Tech Overhauls Hokie Club to Boost Donations, Meet Growing Scholarship Expenses I agree with Ass Pocket. Lackluster schedule and God forbid, a so-so season and we could see many empty seats. Let's work on the Alumni first. Hell, I didn't go to Tech and I'm a member in good standing.
On top of that, I think most schools have made great hires that fit their programs.
I'm reserving this spot for when we have more gif's of Bronco looking angry.
Excellent work Alex.
I may be looking at things through the O&M glasses: my wife went to Penn State so I was able to witness over social media, blogs, etc the reaction to O'Brien coming in after Joe Pa.
Now, scandal aside, (and let's just compare a coach coming in after a long-standing coach), I feel like the Penn State fans had a much more rough transition to acceptance of a new coach and a new culture. Almost like they were afraid that O'Brien was going to ruin the "tradition" - like when the names were placed on the jerseys - what an uproar! HOAT - you're in State College - you may have additional insight and I may be completely off the saddle on that view...
I feel that VT fans have embraced Fuente and what he can do for the program, rather than focusing on what used to be. The Spring Game was fantastic, there is a new energy in the students, and things could not have been smoother. A lot of that is thanks to Whit, as well. But nonetheless, I cannot wait until the Fall.
I'm talking about the one mentioned this forum topic. Isn't that what we're discussing?
Which ODU event did he invite Tech to? That's the issue I think.
Maybe I'm crazy, but I think, even if we are planning our own camp, showing up at the ODU event would be a good idea. There might be some kids there that either couldn't make the VT camp, or don't have us on their radar...YET. If our coaches are charismatic as we think they are, they might be able to make connections with some good players who are currently leaning elsewhere, and not really considering the good guys.
Some nice targets here!
An exclusive interview. Nice work.
Recruit their mothers! More free time for them since they won't have to cook for these guys.
I wouldn't want to have be the one to make those calls. I agree with your point but I also don't think factoring it in is that bad. I don't think Bellemare's hit was as bad when I re-watched it. It was made worse because Orlov bent over. I think Bellemare was just trying to drive him into the board and didn't realize his head was down. That being said, had Orlov had a concussion or been knocked out of the game then I think he should've been suspended longer.

# | Justin Fuente Reflects on His First Spring in Blacksburg Trying to Fill Beamer-Sized Shoes That's the key to playing consistently.
Gotta love it. Coach Fu, he'll get after ya.
I absolutely hate that NHL Player Safety considers whether a player was injured in making a decision on punishment. Take Bellemare on Orlov. That could have easily broken his neck, but since it didn't, Bellemare only gets 1 game. But Orpik gets 3 because Matta had to leave the game. Not going to argue about Orpik's punishment, but which is the standard? Because if it's Bellemare, how do you explain Orpik's suspension? If it's Orpik, then Letang is looking at at least a game. Consistency is their biggest problem.
Our human nature to resist change and complain, in the end I believe donations will go up. I plan to join today.
Yea, Letang was head hunting on that hit. I don't know his suspension history, but given the Marcus stayed in the game I would bet on 1 game.
No.
It's been talked about at length but a big reason is that there was never a reason, outside of season tickets, to start small giving under the old regime. In fact they made it difficult and really only focused on the large gifts.
Even beyond athletics, this has been one of Tech's biggest shortfalls. The school really, really sucks at making donations a culture and making donors feel special. The old attitude always was "give to us because we are awesome" which doesn't work as we are seeing.
I think the new plan Whit is putting in place is trying to create this. Nothing is going to be 100% well received but if he can create a long-term culture that rewards constant giving so that you have a reason to give at a small level and grow, then I think it could work, long term.
On one level, I agree, but as much as I enjoy Arya's Braavos storyline, I have always felt it was a bit unnecessary in the grand scheme of things. She chooses to go to Braavos not because she wants to or feels compelled to, rather she goes because she doesn't know what else to do. She boards the ship trying to go to the Wall, to Jon. But since the captain was going to Braavos, she remembered her coin and said, "Sure, let's go to Braavos because I have that available to me." I just wonder if she will come to a point where she has to decide which path gives her what she wants. Will she find her family? More are alive than she knows. Will she discover her warging? That will cause her to have to choose what she wants in a way that she perhaps hasn't had to choose yet.
It was a different hit only in that it wasn't AS late (~.6 seconds vs ~1 second from Orpik) and Letang left his feet for the hit. But you're right, different color glasses. I'll take Letang sitting for one if Pierre will sit for 3 though. Can't stand that guy at all.
I think Fuente has the goods to get us back in the hunt on an annual basis. But as you said, the competition is going to be much tougher.
The level of coaching in the ACC has jumped in the last few years and the Coastal is going to be an annual battle. The jury is out on Mendenhall at UVA, but you figure Richt will get Miami back to contending and then you've got to play squads coached by Fedora, Cutcliffe, Narduzzi and Paul Johnson every season. It's not going to be an easy road, but at the very least the competition will prepare us better for postseason play.
This is a tangential point, but I think it's very clear that the ACC as a whole realizes that great coaching is going to be key in upping the level of play. On top of that, I think most schools have made great hires that fit their programs. Narduzzi at Pitt has fit like a glove, Cutcliffe has somehow made Duke competitive, Dino Babers will likely have Syracuse humming on the Carrier Dome turf in a few years... the list goes on. The ACC has already been widely praised for its offseason hires, so I think we're about to see the league make a jump in the eyes of pundits.
As cool as her warging sounds, I think I'd be kinda disappointed considering how far shes come to be faceless haha.
Or she will realize she doesn't need the Faceless Men at all. The Stark children all have warging abilities, and Bran jumps into Hodor's mind a few times, albeit with difficulty. I wonder if Arya will learn to do the same. If she figures that out, she'll realize she can bend anyone to her will with enough effort. To an extent, I have been wondering if her warging is going to prevent her from being a Faceless Man. Can she truly ever shed herself if this ability is within her?
At a minimum football season draws nearer. We've got Tennessee and Notre Dame as something fresh, so it's looking good.

I agree with what you're saying. I'm seriously hoping this plan doesn't completely backfire and piss off long-time Hokie Club members. Just like your case, I don't know many 20+ year donors who are going to be thrilled about that big of a hike in donations just to keep their current seats. I think cumulative donations and length of continued support should count for something, but like anything else these days, people just want more money.
