I got a couple friends into brewing in college. One of them worked at Owens and would bring back empty 5 gallon pickle buckets to be made into fermenters. I was really impressed because they did a pretty good job of cleaning them out of the pickle flavor. The brown ale didn't have any vinegar flavor.

Thanks! I have written "Lacto" on the bucket. I guess it's just another push to head in that direction. I'm really excited that I was able to grow the Wicked Weed culture from the bottle. I'm sure several strains have died off, but I think it'll really round out a sour culture I have.
