Practice or rounds? How did you get tickets?

I love me some tailgate, but I also like to cruise downtown throwing cash at the college-priced drink specials before the long walk to the stadium.

1) Drink for a few hours
2) see bill is like $50 for 3 people
3) laugh and go to the game

FYI, I have been fortunate enough to go twice. Most beautiful place I have seen on this Earth. Hard to believe but tv does not do that place justice. If you can ever go, do it!

I think the difference between trying to translate those comments to VT's offense is that MSU's offense relies on the run game in a different way, that requires there to be one bruising, workhorse back instead of 3-4 backs that all bring different qualities to the table, and also scavenge for carries and share the load, but 1 of those is the alpha back, per se. If we had just one workhorse, he'd probably be overly exhausted by game 4 in a high tempo offense without splitting carries.

Nothing like a 6 putt from 2 feet for Ernie Els on #1 for a 10.

Because there are more basketball transfers than there are football transfers everywhere. Basketball players transfer at nearly twice the rate of football players.

And most basketball players have some name recognition. Even a guy like Pierce is known by fans. But other than QBs and maybe RBs, most FB transfers are largely unknown bit players to many fans.

I'd have to put money on Day and Speith at this point. My heart wants Lefty to win one more.

When has he said that? He may be Buzz's favorite player and has said he is the toughest player, but he has never said - or even implied - that Hill is the best player on the team. And that's probably because Buzz doesn't think he is.

Buzz is remarkably honest - probably to a fault - about his players. He said Hudsen was the most talented - even early in '14-'15 - and he was right. He said Leday was most improved before the start of last season - and he was right. He said Outlaw was the best incoming wing in the country and the best scorer on the team - and unfortunately he was probably right.

But he has never said Hill is the best player on the team.

My bucket list. That place is breathtaking.

Coming up from Huntsville Alabama, spending a week camping in SW Virginia with my family leading up to the spring game. Planning on being at the game. Might wander around Campus with my Wife and 4. Wouldn't turn down meeting some folks, and talking some Football.

I think you hit the nail on the head. Your tendencies become very obvious when you start substituting in a certain player with a certain skillset in a certain situation, and your playcalling becomes very easy to predict. I think Loeffler started trying to keep the defense honest by doing the opposite of what was anticipated sometimes, but the problem you run into with that is having a back like Coleman running up the middle between the tackles on 3rd and short is likely to be unsuccessful.

I think the ideal situation is to have a group of RBs who all have fairly well-rounded skill sets, allowing them to be subbed in or out in a number of different situations. That unique combination of size, speed, blocking ability, and hands. Having backs who are more proficient at one or a few of those criteria than the others is okay, but at least they are able to execute the entirety of the playbook and keep the defense from keying in on cues based on personnel.

Look at the list of teams from which players transfer...it's the good, the bad and the ugly.

The only pattern is that kids see greener grass on the other side. It's not a stategy for coaches in the least; it's just a fact of life for college coaches now - if they had their druthers I'm pretty certain most would prefer to do away with any transfer allowability.

And not surprisingly, the pecking order for getting transfers isn't that different from the pecking order out of high school.

I will be headed up from GSO also. I woukd love to drop in early. Will have to dip out for a parents tailgate. Would love to meet some of the crew!

I don't agree with Allen as the best driver, he did it tons and got fouled a lot, but he didn't make many when contested at the rim. This year I would argue Hudson was better at taking it to the rim and finishing than Allen. He just didn't have the volume that Allen did. I do believe that Hill could be the best though, he is very athletic. I agree with the rest, but it will be interesting to see who is the best defender between him and Clarke next year.

Man, I really like that last clip of Mihota coming around the edge. I hope he gets to stay at DE.

Back when Kanye was actually putting out great music.

Additionally, it is a bit unfair to put all of the low return yard average on just the returner. Ten other dudes were supposed to be blocking and making it a bit easier on the returner for all of those returns. Think of it this way, if you remember him running backwards or sideways a lot, then it stands to reason he was doing so because players from the other team were right in his face as he was fielding the ball more often than should be expected.

I think the biggest issue I had with Stroman was his decision making after catching the ball on a punt. He seemed to think he could outrun people to the edge, and if he had to go five yards back to get around them, he could do that. Except it isn't high school anymore, and the gunners on the other team are as fast as he is. The five yards back became seven or eight in many cases. Sometimes as a ball carrier you just have to get the ball upfield as much as possible and take the hit and go down. A positive 4 yard return is a lot better than a -7 yard return. And sometimes, you break a tackle, and the +4 yard return turns into a +20 yard return. So hopefully Shibest gets that point across to him and anyone else returning kicks this year.
