Thanks for the tips.
Saw him on campus the other day and his hair was dyed hot pink. I was looking forward to seeing that look on the court next season, too.....
Good luck, Satchel. You'll always be a Hokie!
Great article Joey, but you have to love coach speak. They can talk for hours and at the end of the day, you realize they have not said a damn thing. Everything is close to the vest, but I am all in and looking forward to a new style of football. Exciting times in Hokieland.

# | Experience Standing Out to Fuente, Devin Wilson Trying His Hand at Wide Receiver Do the older guys have "pellets" on the wall or "pelts" on the wall? I prefer pelts. I am just messing around Joey. Great article!
You will see a bunch more of it than we did last year. Quick screens are a big part of their running game structure. The difference is that Fuente will rotate fresh guys who WILL block on the screens... and if they don't, he will find someone who does. I can X and O Memphis to death, but besides scheme, the biggest thing that stood out was how well his skill position guys blocked.

We're going to need to, eventually. This year may be more of a transition, but eventually (hopefully) the offense is going to start going balls-to-the-wall and the defense is going to need subs.

Huh, Tough crowd...
The one that I am gonna miss the most about this guy is the fact that almost every game he was in the announcers could rarely get his name right.
"Satchel Page on the put back"
Thank you Satchel for being a corner piece to the start of VT basketball becoming relevant again.

Have we ever run three deep at DT? That's exciting

# | Experience Standing Out to Fuente, Devin Wilson Trying His Hand at Wide Receiver I love what this scene has become through the internet and I welcoming your shaming.
Considering Ford's tracking and level of recognition in the ACC, I'd say he's probably focused on his future in football by this point.
Hate to see anyone leave. I wish him and his future NCAA tournament bound team good luck.
Well that went right over...

I GOTTHROWN OUT— THE KEY PLAY (@thekeyplay) November 9, 2012
When asked for comment, AD Whit Babcock simply stared straight ahead, out the window, unable to speak. Likely he was still in shock from the barrage of insults and fluid (and by most accounts, sadistically creative) profanity directed at players, their mothers, the coaches, officials, grounds crew, concession stand workers, and the University of Virginia. President Sands sat in the corner of the room, crying softly to himself. One University employee (who remains anonymous not by his request, but because he was so shell-shocked that he could not remember his own name) simply stated, "This was one of our worst ideas ever."

My thoughts are that it's an attempt to make a joke where Marcus Vick is an Outlaw. With regards to Outlaw, some rumors are that he will not be cleared medically to play. Other rumors are that he will. So who knows really.
On the other hand, this just means their hype machine worked to the point that many more people saw the disappointing episode. We were led to believe there would be a shocking ending, some dramatic exclamation point on an otherwise pretty slow season. Instead, they came up short and there was no shock. My guess is that more people tuned in to avoid what they believed would be hard-to-avoid spoilers, when in fact there were none. We knew where everything was going, though the brief appearance of the Kingdom guys was kind of cool. The real proof will be in the ratings for the season 7 premiere. If the response there is a downturn, then the execs and producers have to take a long, hard look at their approach. Gimmicks do not last, and I would hate to see a really great show go downhill because they're losing their creativity.
I look forward to the "VT_Warthog permanently banned from Lane Stadium" article, and we'll all be here to comfort you (and laugh while you're not looking).
I hope to see a lot more of this

Yeah...

The ACC was a little above his abilities and he has been slow to improve. Good luck with your future b-ball decisions.
