Even with this, they will still loose! But, their fans still won't care.
Excitement in the fanbase also creeps in which can lead to better attendance at games which provides motivation for the players. You can't be relevant if you're overlooked.

You can get fired for that?
It's from the 80's show Small Wonders.
Dennis Wolfe- He did stuff and then he was told to stop doing stuff due to reasons.
What they should get:
All teams involved forfeit all wins and vacate championships for all years listed in the investigation
Fines in relation to every postseason appearance by all teams involved
Banishment or suspensions of coaches involved, based on level of involvement
No TV revenue for a year or twofor the revenue sports
Loss of scholarships for a few years for all teams involved
No sense in future postseason bans. No need to punish current players for past player violations.
Was that a Punky Brewster sighting?

Key word you used..... schools. My point exactly. No show classes, yes, that's probably isolated. Someone else grading papers?? Yea right. I agree that the level of severity of these practices is largely isolated. But the thought that someone doing players' work and someone other than a prof grading an athlete's paper doesn't happen largely across the board is silly.
Well as one of many who posted their opinion on TSL and took no crap off anyone over there by those who thought they could because they had been members for years or now have lots of stars to pump themselves up to untouchable status in their own minds and the owners of TSL.
Holy run on sentence Hokiemonster!
Well as one of many who posted their opinion on TSL and took no crap off anyone over there by those who thought they could because they had been members for years or now have lots of stars to pump themselves up to untouchable status in their own minds and the owners of TSL. I have ceased all activities there because I no longer have a voice unless I want to become a paying member. Glad to see them get called out and glad to be part of TKP where your posts and opinions are welcome and I can get information about Hokie sports long before I see it on TSL.
No, he was in The Wonder Years.
No show classes and fake papers graded by a secretary, I'm going to say that is a very isolated incident among schools. Who else would be that stupid to try that?
Sometimes I hate when we start to get hyped like this. Because then entitlement creeps in. I like the overlooked pissed off kids who fight to be relevant.
So hope Buzz keeps these kids humble, though I'm sure he will. Always chuckled during his game end discussions, he definitely doesn't boost any egos.
Interesting, I haven't been following them closely and was unaware of their access to high level facilities/trainers.
I have to say, what shocks me isn't that VT is at the bottom end of the top 25....it's that UVA is in the top 10.
I know they add Nichols, who will be their best player and maybe All-ACC worthy and return Perrantes. Great recruiting class coming in. But you don't lose Brogdon, Gill and Tobey and not see a bigger dropoff than this. And I'm rather unimpressed with the returning wing players in Shayok, Thompson, Hall and Wilkens.
If I was ranking the ACC next year, I would go with tiers:
National Title Contenders: Duke, UNC
Contenders for Top 25, top 5 Seed in NCAA: Louisville, VT, UVA, SU, FSU, Miami
Bubble Teams: Pitt, ND, Clemson
Bad Teams: NCSU, BC, GT, Wake
Varying shades of gray - I thought TSL was bad until I saw 247 fans frothing at the mouth for pretty much anything you don't tout the party line with.
TSL has gotten better, but I don't care too much about the message board stuff. I like the analysis they provide too. TSL and TKP give me my hokie analysis fix.
There is no guarantee that Perrantes stays. He will probably declare for the draft to see where he grades out and then make a decision since they changed everything this year to allow for players to get a best shot evaluation from the NBA before having to decide whether to return or not. Hell, the entire Kentucky roster is declaring just to see what the process is like.
How would one discuss Dennis Wolfe's tenure without one being negative?
Probably no small wonder why he got fired then. Spending too much time on message boards not enough time doing his job.
savage
Well for the most part I feel pretty confident in Mitchell (though I ultimately agree with Jander). He certainly has the resume to back it up and I like what he says. Let's get cooking!
I usually feel for the coaches in hopes that they land on their feet, but this is childish so....

Maybe it's just me, but I thought Shayok looked really good through the ACC and NCAA Tournaments. I think he's a really good player.
