That's actually not a "reported" version of events. Scott has bounced around because both Foster and Fuente recognize he's a good coach who needs to be somewhere on the defense. There were zero plans to have him coach safeties until Torrian Gray decided he was leaving, which was about a week and a half before it was announced.

I don't know what was worse... the lack of sleep I got last night or the refereeing.

Of course I kid, I would stay up that late and take a win like that again in a heart beat. But all kidding aside, When I was watching the GT/Clemson game, I knew they were going to call literally EVERYTHING. I think 5 or 6 guys fouled out yesterday, that's unheard of, and a bunch of guys had 3/4 fouls.

Sounds like some couches might be getting burned in the near future.

As I'm reading this... "Hmmm, it looks like he made a typo when he was trying to talking about coaches possibly getting burned as a result of the Holgorsen situa...... oh..... nevermind. What he wrote is in fact more accurate."

Bilas went overboard in the whining about the fouls we were 'committing' late in that game. It got to the point that if we breathed, it was a foul, and yet he was bitching and moaning the entire time as if we should have known better. Towards the end, the only way to not foul was to not play defense and allow them to score.

Legs for the deep cut simpsons gif

Come on, man. Announcers were fine, can't expect them to know major alumni bases for every single school in the country, and he really couldn't stop gushing over Zach LeDay and how hard we played. He said multiple times that we just play out-worked Florida State and gave us a ton of credit for it.

Some of it was whistles on non-fouls, but FSU also got really physical on D and drew those whistles. We seemed to step up our physicality as a response to that. I think FSU realized at halftime that they needed to change up the tone and came out with their backs against the wall.

A lot of fouls, a lot of them warranted. It was a tough game.

In reality, the only reason that game was even somewhat close was because the refs got ridiculously whistle happy calling a bunch of stuff that wasn't fouls on both teams. If they were allowed to continue play, that was probably going to be a win by >20.

Regardless of what happens the rest of this weekend, I seriously can't wait for the 2016-17 season.

Really enjoyed watching that game. Fell asleep, but DVR-ed it, 'cause I knew I would. Watched it this morning without knowing VT won. Nice to see we control the entire game. 2nd half was a foul-fest, but we hit ~80% so that was sweet. Wish we hadn't fouled them almost as much as they did us - that could be a concern for us against Miami tonight. We need to have good legs on D tonight and not be tired like FSU was last night (lots of flat footed reach in fouls), that will be key to us being competitive tonight. Either we are in a battle tonight for the entire game or we get blasted, we'll see which team shows up. Another victory against MIami would be so sweet, but it will not come easy.

On another note, Jay Bilas was a real tool for most of the game. He has no idea how many VT alumni and fans are in the DC area - he made some comment about so many traveling from Blacksburg (which I'm sure some did). AND, he was just so pro-FSU the entire game, even when we dominated the entire game. I was so sick of listening to him...
