Just saw this guy was forced to read this statement poured out his heart and soul to best Korea to try and gain forgiveness for his terrible crimes and get back home.

How so? It probably would've had a negative effect on the RPI, especially if VT played BC (RPI = 238). NIT probably wouldn't really care about a win against a cellar team. They would sure as hell care about a loss.

I think we will draw an NIT bid if we finish well. Get a few more wins, maybe make a little noise in the ACC tournament and we get the NIT.

Yep.

Casual fans put way too much into the star ratings by the recruiting publications - particularly in the mid 3* to mid 4* area where most of VT's signees live. The differences between players in this area of the recruiting umbrella are much smaller - and the outcomes far more difficult to project - than the star ratings imply to the casual observer.

Not based on statistics, but from watching the games.

1. The refs decide to call fouls inside rather than "let the big men fight it out". Especially vs Pitt and Miami.
2. We either get out on the shooters or they are cold from the three.
3. Our guys decide whether to go up strong, pass or pull up based on what the other team does rather than making up their mind first and forcing it.

I say that because that's what this turns into occasionally... A group of women gossiping about their disdain of a specific person or topic.

I agree with the sentiment, but the punch would've landed better without the gender stereotype.

I wrote this in another thread, if you're unhappy with the quality of what's being discussed, then change the conversation for the better.

Contribute and post more of the comments and threads you would like to read. I strongly believe TKP has such a high-level of discourse because the writers and community members have set a high threshold for content. If you feel things are lacking, post an insightful thread or comment. Tell other smart and witty Virginia Tech fans about TKP and invite them to do the same. You, along with other members of the community, have the ultimate power to raise or lower the quality conversations on TKP.

All you did was complain about complaining, which in the end is more noise.

The only one I really look to as a solid stat is #7. Having our #5 scorer at 10 points means we have a minimum of 50 points. We likely are more in the 70 or 80 point range and you will be competitive in most games with that kind a chaching.

Thats almost too many statistics.... I don't think you need to boil it down to that many "trends" Honestly, when VT wins, they do a couple of things in my eyes...

1) Take advantage of mismatches. Example, a forward trying to guard Clarke or LeDay since they can stretch the court

2) Have a balanced scoring attack among 3-4 players

3) Commit to rebounding on both the offensive and defensive ends. We have given up wayyyyyy too many 2nd chance points.

Key point, during VT's current 3-game ACC win streak, they have outscored all 3 of their opponents. This is a must if we want to win the remainder of our games.

well, with the NCAA (68), NIT (32), CIT (32), CBI (16) and new Vegas16 post season tournaments, it's hard to imagine a scenario where a .500 or better ACC school (even if we go 0-3 we finish 16-16) not being one of 164 schools invited to play in the post season.

I think i saw some rumblings about the Vegas16 on twitter last week. it's a 5 day tournament all in one arena, which might appeal to Buzz since his team has no real post season experience to speak of.

Allen has 24
Bibbs has at least 18
Blackshear has at least 13
Clarke has at least 12
Anybody has at least 10

Who's this Anybody player?

Soooo people can trash journalists over their opinions and then use the defense that everyone has a right to their own opinion? Seems a little on the hypocritical side. I also am not sure everyone here knows that Twitter isn't an "objective" media platform. If you follow a journalist on Twitter, you are following the person. They are not required to talk VT 24/7 or be objective on their Twitter account. If you do not like their personal thoughts on the world, I suggest you go to the newspaper website when you want to read the objective Hokie material.

I personally enjoy visiting this site to get away from the daily grind which includes hearing my fianc and other women complain nonstop about people based on their social media opinions. I say that because that's what this turns into occasionally... A group of women gossiping about their disdain of a specific person or topic. I take pride in the fact that other fans compliment our fan base on our respect for others and I personally would like to see that take precedence over discussions like these. And yes, I do realize that if I don't like the opinions in these forums, I should take my own advice and go elsewhere. I am in no way free of guilt and in a way I'm lecturing myself about being the bigger person, but I just would like to see these forums remain the standard for good, clean hokie talk.

With only 2 games remaining in the regular season and at least 2 more after that, I found a few scoring trends that spell victory for Buzz's Bunch.

Where do you get at least 2 more games after the regular season is over? Is the ACC tourney double-elimination now, or are you assuming that we'll be playing in the NIT or CBI?

I think scoring "trends" aren't quite true. I think that when Allen scores more than 25, he's being forced to take the scoring upon himself because no one else is hot. When Henry is scoring, it doesn't look good when guys like LeDay or Bibbs aren't scoring.

Long story short, we don't need guys to "not score too much" or "not be a scoring option." We need balanced scoring every game. We rarely win when it's up to 1 or 2 guys to score the majority of the points. Balance needs to come from LeDay, Allen, Bibbs, Hudson and even Blackshear.

May have already been stated, but Motu is three weeks out of surgery so he was unable to do everything. Only reason he hadn't earned a shirt earlier. From what I hear the guy is busting it harder than almost anyone else out there and he's coming off an injury. The guy may not always get the best results on the field, but no one can argue his effort and heart.
