Trust me, 50 will be nipping at your heels before you know it. The longer you live, time seems to speed up at an exponential rate. You're already ahead of most givers at the Platinum level, so that is not a bad ceiling at all.
Hey, if every Hokie alum who is a fan gave even a small amount, it would make a HUGE difference. Kudos to all who give even the minimum. And you have the right attitude - try to increase your level of giving when you can and at some point it may be more than a small amount.
With the total number of Hokie alums out there we should reach 20,000 Hokie Club members in a few years. If Buzz Williams and Fuente can come anywhere close to what Dresser has done with our wrestling program, the Hokie Club could reach 25,000 in a few more years.
The reason you mentioned for fans to consider joining is dead on. Support all VT sports, which helps the non-revenue sports and the marquee sports. If you start young and slowly increase your giving over the years you will reap the rewards when our football and basketball teams are playing for a national championship in the not too distant future :>}
Gotcha, thanks.
These numbers won't include people who paid in 2015 those people will be 2016 Hokie Club members.
I've heard that a couple of players have been summarily dismissed for ketchup use. Sad.
(#sauces, obvi)
I rejoined this year after either having a "shared" membership with another Hokie or not being a member for a few years. The Whitt Babcock and Buzz hires were pushing me in that direction, and the Fuente and company hires made it a no-brainier to rejoin. I can't attend that many games now, so it was not about points, etc. Just wanted to do my small part to show support and say "YES!" to the recent direction of the athletic programs as a whole. I truly believe we have some great basketball and football coming in a few years. And it seems like the non-revenue sports are seeing an uptick already (e.g., wrestling and women's bball).
My sentiments exactly
I think you summed the situation up nicely. Fuente will be under the gun from the git go to produce offense and I think whoever can do that for him will be the qb.
Improvement, but not what you would hoped for after coaching change.
But, really, is a Runza a sandwich? Ducks.

Hokie Club money and Member numbers for 2015 compared to recent years.
Whit is culturally sensitive to his post, rather than morally opposed to it...this article highlights his previous history at Cincinnati with beer sales:

Gross simplification: 1500 donation, 33 federal plus 5.75 marginal rates VA, call it 40% total marginal tax rate. I write off 1500, save 600 in taxes. That ticket effectively costs me 1400. Yes it's done in April and I pay 2k on the spot, but if you have this mindset (and you should) every financial decision involves taxes ultimately and you could not care less.

Hokies win 31-9
Bingo so in order to get ice crystal growth you need a really deep layer of saturation coupled with temperature below 32 degrees the entire way. It can be a really fine line sometimes and that's why forecasters struggle on this close call.
So if it trends above 32 it's going to melt in the air. Then fall as rain and freeze on the surface IE freezing rain
If it's below 32 the entire time it'll fall as snow
If it's below 32. Then above. Then below again you'll get like icey sleety gross stuff
Reading that Fredericksburg.com article on Yetur Gross-Matos didn't sound to promising for the good guys as of right now. We've got some work cut out for us in order to be at the top of his (and his dad's) list. He doesn't sound as married to the Commonwealth as Tyjuan is. Idk. Crootin'.

I also believe in innocent until prove guilty, but that assumes an even playing field for both parties. The problem here and with many similar cases at universities across the country is that the accused benefit from the institutional resources of the athletic department. In this case, these players got the benefit of an expensive attorney courtesy of the athletic department. I doubt the victims were furnished with legal representation. This puts the accused players at a significant advantage regardless of their guilt or innocence.
If these players are guilty, it is deplorable that the university allowed a culture like that to exist at all. If the players are innocent, there is still a major problem with how cases like these are handled and not just at Tennessee.
Joey Dance won 15-5.
Yeah, that's usually when they load the gun and call the glue factory.
Mac was one of my favorites, and you're right, he led some great discussions.
If you want to make Nebraskans mad, tell them Runzas are nothing but Hot Pockets.
Nebraska is actually a nice place to live. Just too far from Blacksburg and too cold for humans in the wintertime.
So, I took the keg off the tap causing the strange off flavor and smell and put it on the other which I had not yet used. The flavor went away, so it was definitely something in that particular line. The keg finally kicked last night, so I started taking everything apart and cleaning dilligently. Lines, couplers, spouts, shanks - everything.
When taking apart the line in question, I discovered what was causing the funky flavor - the little neoprene washer seated between the beer line and shank behind the faucet. It reeked exactly like the off flavor I was getting in the first few sips of beer. Cleaned those things very well, sterilized everything, and let the parts dry over night. Put everything back together this morning.
When taking apart the good line, I noticed that most all of the chrome polish has worn away in the back of the shank and brass is exposed where it will contact beer. I hadn't used that tap until the other day, so it must have already been like that when I got it. I didn't notice any off flavor, but I hear it can cause problems eventually.
Should I eventually look into investing in a replacement stainless shank? It's not too urgent, since I primarily just run one keg at a time and can use the other tap, but SS beer parts are incredibly expensive.
Well this certainly doesn't help matters.

I'd forgotten about this thread, but in the end I decided that I'll be going to the games this year except for a couple that I have other commitments during. Should make 4 or so by driving down the ~7 hours on Friday night and getting a room in Roanoke through Sunday (obviously longer stay for the Thursday nighter).
