That is the thread I found. Thank you for the additional information, that's what I was looking for!
I am family friends with one of the football players and he said all of the coaches are really strong and work out just as hard as the players. He told us that he walked in one day and Augie Conte was training with Coach Shuman, which I found impressive. If memory serves me right, Ryan Shuman graduated a couple of years ago, right?
Neither Jared Allen or Charles Johnson will be retained for the current price point, which frees up a ton of money. One or both of them could restructure but Carolina has the upper hand with their contracts. But yeah like you said Norman will be expensive no matter how you look at it and they also have to worry about locking up Lotulelei and Kawann Short, which I believe they'll find much more vital.
I'm considering it. It is pay day afterall...

Its almost like he's a missionary
This is true, but that when I looked through the bids placed thus far, I saw at least 5 people place bids on multiple helmets which tells me that there are not as many people with reservations of spending that much as you think. Again, the bidding ends in 17 days. If there are over half without bids with just a week left, I'd be shocked. You're bidding on a helmet that retails at $300-400 WITHOUT any branding or labeling and that wasn't worn by a player you have a connection to. Add that in and an initial value of $500 is very reasonable.
As I understand it, they have about 16 million in cap space and he's going to ask for at least 14 million. They can cut guys like Jared Allen and make room but like you said, if he's a trench guy that might not be his mo.
I'm not 100% sure either. But I think if they're serious about keeping him around, they have the means to. The thing that makes me doubt it is our GMs history of not putting too much money into DBs. He's a trench guy (and rightfully so). Plus Norman is like almost 29 or something so he's looking for that one big contract.
I don't know that we've ever auctioned off this many helmets at once though. I'd throw those other precedents out the window for this one.
Excuse me, sir. I believe I have the rights on all asian gifs. We will settle this like gentlemen

Commas are important.
I'm not 100% sure Carolina can pay Norman. He's a free agent this year and he'll be looking for a bigger deal considering he's one of the best corners in the league. I can't say anything for sure but my buddy who lives and breathes Panthers football isn't too confident.
ALMOST have the wife convinced this would be a great Christmas gift. I think if I can get one for 500 I might get her to agree. In surprised some of the helmets that have bids and the ones that don't.
I'm not proud of this, but I've been tempted before to claim to be new just to see how many turkey legs I would get.
just as many non UVa fans around here as there are Hoos
Soooo it's just like a typical gameday?
Short sighted, IMHO. We'd be cloning the ones that take forever to produce more.
If we want to clone but stick to FFF, it'd just be the Fuller Fotocopy Facility.
I'll bet some go for more than $1,000.
Anyone who thinks Wilt wouldn't own guys like Andre Drummond or Lemarcus Cousins or Dwight Howard is delusional.
And Kareem too.
On the Lebron v. Jordan debate I will say this, whenever Lebron captures 10 straight scoring titles, averages 30 points for his career, wins defensive player of the year, goes six for six in the finals with 6 finals MVPs, and plays for the best team of all time then he may be in consideration for best player of all time until then Jordan is the GOAT.
Doing the shake and bake on that last questions! Was actually very curious to hear his numbers in the weight room.
And averaged 25 rebounds a game that year as well...
Some of Wilt's highlights are absurd.
Today's run and gun offenses? Please. Go back and take a look at the game scores from the 70s - before the 3 pt shot and you couldn't put your hands on someone.
A guy like Kareem (who was a 3"-4" taller, more athletic version of Tim Duncan) or Wilt would have been just fine going up and down the court against a bunch of 6'9" forwards masquerading as centers.
I would have Kareem ahead of both of them. People under 40 only remember the old Kareem, but he was a totally dominant player in an era of good centers. His sky hook was the most unstoppable shot in the history of the game. He was a legit 7'3" and athletic; there isn't a center in the game right now that would have a chance against him.

Before demeaning people that scout prospects for the draft. Please go watch the 2014 VT vs. GT game, watch Fuller the whole time. And don't watch it with orange and maroon glasses on. As he has many strengths, this game will help you see what draft people discuss when referring to his weaknesses.
