P***ed me off think all four they brought up strength / power concerns.
We're from the mountains of Virginia... we shouldn't be finessing anyone.
But in retrospect, they used to say the reason guys get stopped out athletically is they put on weight that doesn't carry well. So if you need to put on 10 lbs (muscle) to compete and those 10 lbs make you slower or less able to compete... you're done.
I think these guys all have a shot to stick. Just wonder if from a cultural perspective we didn't emphasize toughness, compactness, and functional strength enough??? Seems like we're gonna be doing that going forward. Crossing fingers.

Disagree...shouldn't the best player on your team elevate the rest of the team to greater heights (i.e. championships). Wilt played for stats.
I get the feeling that the 9 violations which predated the current staff were of the "Level II/III" variety (recruit got an extra bagel at breakfast, got extra fries without paying, etc) and the other 4 are of the "Yeah, we gave them 50 grand in casino chips if they would play for us" flavor.

Thomas needs to be in the discussion. The Magic, Bird, Jordon era had so many greats that played against each other, you wonder how they would do in their own era like Kobe and James have basically had. You had the Pistons, Lakers, Celtics, Rockets, Trailblazers, and Bulls that just battled it out. I know I am biased to the 70's-90's hoops (I can't watch todays ballerina garbage), but those guys did what they did while basically playing hockey rules.

I love that he and his staff do the workouts with the players. I think that helps to build a special bond with them and that is important for many reasons. The other thing that stuck out to me is that the strength coaches get to spend much more time with the players than the position coaches and Fuente and Hilgart are aware of that and have a plan to continue the vision and mentality of the football team through the strength and conditioning program. I have no idea how that was handled under Beamer but it makes me really excited that Fuente's philosophy and vision is being conveyed and developed all the way down the line in every way possible. That is awesome.

# | Fuller, Nicolas, Maddy and Malleck invited to NFL combine. Really glad to see Malleck getting an invite. Guy has a very well rounded skill set for the NFL game.
I love the lead by example mentality. Also, his beard game is strong! I want a beard like that on all the players.
LeBron might be able to guard nearly everyone on the floor, but he can't actually play center.
I don't think my wife will mind.
