Well, he didn't give away much, but at least it was a pretty diplomatic response. For any who missed it, he basically acknowledged how great of a person and coach Torrian is, and that anytime you have that, other schools will be interested. He didn't call the move a surprise or sudden, but totally side-stepped how long he had known this was happening. He's got the coachspeak down pat, I'd say.

There are misevaluations, but most of those guys were a long time ago when there wasn't nearly as much coverage as there is today. Look at the teams winning national titles and look at their recruiting rankings the previous 4 years. It isn't just a theory it's a fact that there is a correlation between recruiting rankings and teams winning it all.

Also the likelihood of a 5 star getting drafted is higher, than a 4 star, 3 star, 2 star and so on. Do plenty of 2 and 3 stars get drafted? Absolutely, but there are also 100s if not 1000 more of each of them than there are 5 stars.

This recruiting class is fine and for the most part, the way they rank these high school kids today with the star system is bogus. Everyone should look and see where those 5 star recruits ended their career and you will see it just doesn't matter. J.J. Watt, Russell Wilson and Cam Chancellor were 2 star recruits. It is more about the development while you are at school than the stars before you get there.

I sat next to him in some hospitality class my senior year, must have been his sophomore year, he was quiet but he was always well spoken.

I keep reading about the pay cut and Torrian making more in the SEC. I don't think it was the fact that his base salary was cut or the fact that he would make more in the SEC. I don't get the impression that Terrain's decisions were ever driven by money. I'd guess that it wasn't loosing $15k/year, but what the cut in salary implied. His body of work, his resume, and the new staff felt that he was previously overpaid.

So BM had an interview with Wes McElroy on Fox sports this morning... he actually sounds... like an ok guy... *retches*

That's my sentiment. If pisses me off more when it happened. There's a lot of clean up on that - reassure 2017 kids it won't happen again. If he leaves a month ago. I'd be upset but I'd be more inclined to be excited about who's stepping up next.

I just want an answer. Did I do something wrong? We can fix this. It's not over. Please, I need you. FINE. GO. Nobody really liked you anyway. Maybe now well have a coach who can properly talk to someone's MOM! (Walk out. Shut the door) (whimper behind said door)

This will be an interesting interview, his first done with some fans truly unhappy with something that has happened.

We all must be careful what we wish for. This echo has been ringing in my ears ever since the mediocre seasons we have had the past few years. Some of us were ready to run Frank out on a rail. Be careful what you wish for. Let's please come together. We could have emptied the coaching cabinets all together. I believe with my heart we will be ok. Let's funnel our emotions to Saturday's in the fall. Go Hokies!!!

^This, this a thousand times this

Our defense puts pressure on our DBs to be very good. In the same way Penn State's defense was always predicated on making the linebackers make plays, ours emphasizes defensive backs. If we get good talent in the program, our secondary will continue to produce top players.

People tend to forget that we we're still a CB factory before he TG was a coach.

Thank you for this, too. TG was produced by DBU, not the architect of it.

If anyone isn't familiar with the concept of institutional memory/knowledge, take a look. I think it will apply to our secondary.

I think it's dirty that he left on signing day right after bringing in guys who presumably were going to play for him. Doesn't sit well with me at all. More thoughts later I'm sure.

Not a Ravens fan myself, but that Super Bowl trophy says I'm not laughing (give it a few more years).
