Yes this is possible but I think it will take 2 years of positive upswing until we are able to really make a dent. Plus adding additional recruiting positions would help.
Well, when the sellin' gets tough...
I'll take Laborn in 2017 and Slade in 2018. Burden is from VA Beach like Laborn. Tell him he's the only RB being courted in this class, make him feel special, get this 757 movement back going. I like VT offering more 4* recruits but when you have game breakers in your backyard, have to build a fence and keep them home. Laborn and Slade are best RB prospects in VA since David Wilson and Ryan Williams, we all know how those turned out. Damone Drew of Brooke Point HS Stafford has impressive film for 2017 as well.
I expect a Clemson-esque boost in recruiting if we get back to winning consistently with a more attractive offense. The results for Clemson were almost immediate, the offense was enticing to recruits who wanted to have fun, put up numbers, and win games. We should see a similar boost if that is the case.
well now I'm really curious what your definition is
Sorry if I am pessimistic but I get the wildest feeling that even though our coaches has been hard at work, I am not expected any kind of surprises and just sign who we already have on board.
I do like the change in recruiting but I don't see the payoff till our play on the field is more encouraging to recruits.
Great to see them doing well. Hopefully they'll get bumped up into the top 10. What's the RKO count on the season?

Can't remember which one, but one of the florida boys was adamant about not playing in a spread offense seems like a tough sell
This thing needs to move further East. Hampton Roads is trying to get in on the snow action too!
As someone who took a fifth year, yes absolutely do it. An extra season of football is worth it. If you're up for it try grad school to extend it even more. And since you've gone that far, just get the PhD. If you're done with school, date someone who still goes there once you have to leave Blacksburg. Then you have to visit for football weekends!
I would rather have the #1 overall prospect from the state of VA. Recruiting in your home territory is very important for schools like Virginia Tech. There is a reason Fuente reiterates he is taking over the 757.
Can I have the two 4 stars too? ;)
Hmm thats a good question, I like where you are going with it,
I think the correct answer is C? Walk-on FB from Mechancsville, VA?
I'd like to break out that acronym for you but it's NSFW.
The roads in PA are pretty bad - and Maryland roads are closely behind. From what I've seen, Virginia takes pretty good care of their roads, minus a few areas. But the beltway in VA is much, much smoother than the beltway in MD.
Hypothetical: Would you rather have two 4 star RBs from Florida or the number 1 RB recruit from the state of Virginia. And why?
I've noticed a lot of offers for key positions are 4*. If our boys only target the top, then we should land at least a few if them. Definitely feel like the recruiting tactics have changed.
I also like the responses to Burden. If he proves to coach them well, with the recruiting response so far, dude could be a monster.
HARRY!! WOOP WOOP!!
Please please please land Lemons!!! I just want to say when Florida gives you Lemons, you kick the ACC's ass! or something like that
A little off topic, but I'm getting really sad about seeing offers being made to players that won't even play until I've already graduated. Maybe I'll have to take a 5th year so I can stay in North and see us really take over the ACC.
I used to commute into Quantico for work.
A friend from Md used to do the same. Once, he changed lanes next to me (cut me off badly) without using turn signals.
I asked him, "Why do you not use turn signals, friend."
He answered, "Why would I want to let me enemies know what I am doing."
I grew up north of Baltimore.
I spent my adult life living in Tokyo, San Diego, Los Angeles, Norfolk and Richmond.
I would never, ever move back to MD or the DC area due to the driving conditions. The drivers and the roads in MD are the worse I've seen in the U.S. with the possible exception of roads in eastern PA.
There are blue shirts now? WTH is that? Like you live in a tent outside the practice facility and when a grey shirt opportunity opens up you can enroll and wait some more?
THIS IS WHY WE NEED AN EARLY SIGNING PERIOD

when a kid de-commits its f him f that we didn't need him anyways he will ride the pine wherever he goes.
when a school pulls an offer it oh "Grades" or better player became available and its ok
I've seen it happen on both sides and its heartbreaking.
One 4 star RB please!
If he is good enough to play linebacker in Bud Foster's defense as a true freshman, Tennessee is making a huge mistake in letting him go. He may be on the team that beats UT; but he is not likely to contribute.

Glad Hokies joined the party for this kid. Highlands Springs has a great program, Hokies need to get back to offering kids who win state titles, even if they don't have 4* or 3* star rankings like Wallace and his teammate Dortch. Knowing how to win before you get to college is an underrated intangible. Dortch size is going to hurt him obtaining offers but I'll bet he'll be making us shake our heads when he's doing ACC DBs and Punt teams dirty at Wake. Wallace has great body control and deceptive speed.
