When I look at Emmanuel Belmar's film, I get real excited. He's a missile at 6-2, 220.
Thanks Rob, love the insight as always. I think your point about Wilson over Bibbs in the Rim Protector category is great. With both Bibbs and Pierce, I tended to overvalue length given how early we are in the season. When it comes to Wilson, I agree that he has more of a penchant for getting physical in the paint.
With regard to overall rankings, as I mentioned in the second paragraph, the composite ranking is literally an average ranking across the five major categories. I don't do any analysis as I put that list together — just math. Henry being ranked highly is a little nuts, but it speaks more to the categories skewing slightly to his strengths.

The Donlon reference was 100% an attempt at humor. And I agree that Robinson could end up somewhere along the lines of what you describe. I essentially said as much in our season preview. He's one of the best true point guards we've seen in Blacksburg in some time, but like most true freshman ball handlers, how well he develops his jumper will go a long way towards determining his ultimate ceiling.

# | What returning offensive ball handlers have the most to gain and most to lose under Fuente? Most to lose? I'll go with Dwayne Lawson. When he committed, he was Lefty's heir apparent. Now if Evans starts for two years and Fuente finds his own QB of the future, DLaw might never see the field. And that's not even taking into consideration that Josh Jackson might just straight up beat Lawson out after having two years in the program.

At one point he stated "I don't even have to yell on this guy's free throws, I know he's going to miss these." Big Satch then preceded to hit both. He caught some hell after that.
Pedigree, as in East German breeding programs? Christian McCaffrey is the grandson of Bill Sime (different name, grandpa), the 1960 Olympic Silver medalist in the 100 meters. We need to start scouring the records for grandsons of guys such as Bob Hayes, Willie Davenport, Mel Pender and Al Oerter.

Woody Baron was really good at DT when Marshall was out, Ekanem and Mihota is pretty darn good tandem at DE, and we have Nigel Williams at the other tackle along with Sobzak, Ricky Walker, and Settle

Damn!! Strong, balance and speed for a big guy. Also looks like he has that intangible runners instinct. Good pick for the future.
I don't get what he is talking about only running people over. I saw plenty of good moves and spins in there. I also like how he has a knack for stepping/hopping out of tackles around his feet.
Just an observation, anyone else notice that he seemed to change jersey numbers (from 22 to 11) in one game?
He may not be the most explosive, but that balance is unreal. Makes it look so easy.
He looks like a Madden character, breaking all those tackles.
Ugh, are we seriously doing this stuff again, just like on the David Wang missed block? Good lord, watch the clip. Bucky, running full speed to lay the blocker out, misses because the defender, instead of moving towards the play as Bucky is clearly anticipating, stutter steps to avoid the block. Isaiah could have still followed Bucky and potentially broke that for a TD. Had he done that instead of going backwards, we wouldn't be talking about this. Instead, you're going to try to draw out a negative. How about instead look at the key block he made to spring Ford open on the longest TD of his career on a WR screen. Everybody is going to have a bad play, but seriously, in a game where we won and this miss didn't cost us anything at all, this is something that really doesn't matter.
